The emphasis on "youth" is also a big issue with rap. Millions of 25+ yrs olds on Twitter acting like KIDS trying to get on their level. Insanity. Frightening in fact how adult minds are being microwaved, while the kids will prolly grow out of it and become haters like us in a few years. Kids will be kids. Nothings more tragic than a man in his late 20s dressed like hes in MIGOS :dead:

I see that shyt a lot. 20 years ago, the average 20 something MC dropped joints like this

now a nikka pushing 40 is making shyt like this

Why?

Is that what our food has come to brehs?

What happened to our culture? How we let them run with it? I'm about to start eating vegetables.
Just stop

There has always been music like this.. Pickin Boogers and The Pee Wee Herman wasn't exactly high brow or deep...

The only problem I have with current hip hop is lack of balance in the mainstream...

If we heard Miley Cyrus in between a Crossroads, Fight The Power or Dear Mama it wouldn't be so glaring...

I've been saying this for years that there's no mainstream balance.
There's never been balance

fukk this mainstream shyt. It dead to me now. I'm bout to start listening to Jazz man.

Sad thing is people think this shyt go hard.

So I guess I should make a trap beat, throw a retarded hook on there repeating the same word and call it hip hop.

Sad brehs, I'm stating to lose passion.

That's the key word

This ain't Hip-Hop, this is the industry, not the culture

 Blame Industry Plant #1, Drake, for making them hot, too

I'm not a 'Head because of the radio

Our artform can be beautiful and has the same issues as any other culture

It's not time to abandon it, because, ppl make songs you don't like

Sidebar: The song is about selling drugs

Hanna Montana is for the whip, club or the hoes. Chill out. Where's Cash Out? Yung Joc? D4L/Shawty Lo?
You can see some artists as passing through or you can have an invested long term interest in their career (like ppl do w/ Drake, J. Cole, etc.)

Theres more rap than Hanna Montana. We got Spotify, XM, Sirius, etc. Radio is dead anyway. Listening to it for substance? You're doing it wrong.

this same thread gets made weekly, if u don't like mainstream rap music then don't listen to it, the underground scene is as versatile and dope as it ever was imo to stil be griping about mainstream music.

put this quote on the top page of the booth :blessed:
People always come in here to tell the rest of us that rap so bad they hate it now.
I am Hip Hop and so are a lot of other people on this site, to hate Hip Hop would be hating yourself

The song in the OP is such a trash, but there is always a tone of dope hip-hop, that you can get back to or discover....

I'm not even familiar with the most of new songs. Ain't know who the hell these new "rappers" are...:snoop:

We've always been able to pick and choose. I feel him in the sense of this being a mainstream joint and being :snoop: about it but I've been picking and choosing what I listen to since middle school so at this point, shyt doesn't even phase me. "Urban" radio isn't even urban anymore breh, we lost that fight. The days of rappers speaking up about the music being made in hip hop, collectively, and having it tossed to the bushes is over.

Mainstream rap is product placement. Miley is a product.

She gave herself a remix and now shes on the remix.

Co-opting her and featuring her is the most rap thing you can do on a major label right now.

I've found it's easiest to deal with rap when you separate the commercial aspect from the underground. If it's not for you ignore it. Less stress. More good music. It's way to late in the game to try to kick White people and materialism out of rap music.
