I hate seeing disrespectful young people as well, but folks from various ethnicities with home training know better, including ADOS.

Everyone was not in agreement that was disrespect :jbhmm: Maybe that’s what folk should be …..meh, whatever

And then the tethers response back

Your posting style is incomplete at best …

context of the thread matters …

Glad you used this example. Bc thats deference. To an exaggerate extent, but that’s what it is. It is not the same thing as ‘respect’. If I were to say Asians are more deferential to elders/authority, everyone gets that and no one would bat an eye.

So if people took it as ‘he sayin we don’t respect our elders!‘ well that’s a personal problem I can’t help you. I meant exactly what I said.

Oh and another thing….the thread title says “YN energy”. Well, what do you mean by that :jbhmm: YN has a bad connotation. So if he’s coming with “YN energy” and it’s being applauded…..
“YN Energy” can be interpreted as supreme GenZ confidence from a top 10 NBA player. You’d get the same banter and “YN” confidence from a late GenX player like Kobe and early GenX player like MJ if they were chilling with Obama if he was around when they were Ants age. That arrogance is lauded when it comes from MJ/Kobe. The “deference” convo is only thing because it’s Obama. Which goes back to the DNC thing. Ant just being Ant(IE being confident) is being seen as “ADOS lack of deference”. When in reality, it’s just typical supreme confidence NBA banter. “I’m the best, you betta ask somebody” type stuff. If you asked Obama, he’d probably praise Ants confidence and say some shyt like “Me and Michelle were talking, and we both said the young fella really does reminds us of MJ back in the days. Especially when I first came to Chicago from Hawaii and he was killin it in the 80s” <—-or some shyt like that. Obama doesn’t seem like that type who wants ridiculous deference. He was probably drankin and just loved shooting the shyt with the players. Only the coli and the DNCsphere read too much into it.

As far as the Asian Culture comment and their deference towards the elderly, that was never used in comparison or as a measuring stick toward ADOS culture or to insult ADOS culture the way you did, especially you being non ADOS. Asian culture respect for the elderly was always mentioned in a vacuum and observation of their culture, not to shyt on black American culture. Black Americans respect their elders like anyone else. You made it a point to mention you weren’t ADOS, while insulting ADOS culture. That was just a parting shot you added in there for no reason, while trying to critique Ant. It was pointless to bring up, and yet…you brought it up. You stirred the pot, now you’re on the stove.:yeshrug:

You can't speak to an adult in other parts of the world as you can do in America..

:manny:
So Ant, who is 23 and a millionaire, wouldn’t be considered an adult in other parts of the world? Ironically this logic falls flat, because in America 23 is viewed as young. His relationships with older women are viewed as grooming since he’s been allegedly been with them since he was 18-19. On the flipside, in other parts of the world, his status, income, age, and the fact that he already has multiple children would’ve put him in the “adult” category. The ADOS American parting shot from the dude OP called out was just unnecessary. :manny:

I didn’t agree with it. But he is an athlete on go mode! Competitive to his core. Training all his life. Talking shyt and having to back it up. Barack’s ?s were kind of probing which puts him in that spirit. I chalk it up to lack of tact and maturity. That improves with age.

We come from the school of “anybody can get it” I will bust Barack’s ass in a litany of spades and other card games, so he best to come correct. Respectfully.

It's weird breh..

For starters, America expects 18 year old's to get out the house and go start their own life..I have never been anywhere else on this planet where that occurs..
18 year old's are still considered babies in the world outside America. :manny:

?? What’s the problem?
You don't know what the fugg you are popping off about is the problem.

:manny:
You couldn't even do it America. We had to refer to our elders as ma'am and sir. There are still kids being raised doing that.

The difference is that when people moved into cities customs change. The same thing happened in Africa and the Caribbean. I have seen it. People that grow up in villages are different than kids that grow up in cities.
