This hasn't been a good experience. Did a total clean reinstall of everything wiped of all windows 7 settings and now everything seems to work ok. Had to send an hour reinstalling programs and getting all the settings back to the way they were in 7.

i saw it was $40 on Microsoft's site so i bought it. i'm bout to install it now. upgrading from Win7 i'm not gonna back anything up or install on a different drive i'm just gonna dive in head first

I tried it a couple months ago and I didn't like it either. that lack of a start button is really annoying. Imma go head and keep riding with this windows 7.

This seems horrible for people that actually work with computers for a living like graphic /web designers, programmers etc. that have tight ass deadlines to meet.

I might bite the bullet and just in my first time ever "pay" for an upgrade. I just don't feel like going through the hassle of downloading, burning and installing. I tried to do that yesterday but my cousin downloaded the wrong language windows 8. :shaq2:

Though I may wait and let my cousin do the upgrade first as I'm not too sure if I will actually "like" this new windows.

This OS is a beast, everything is so smooth and seamless, can't wait to get this on a tablet. But if its anywhere as responsive as my test of Windows 8 Developer was back when I tested on my touchscreen PC than I already know it will be good $$$

I'm a programmer and I could use Win 8. Might not be as good as Win XP/7 but I could make it. I essentially only need 2-3 apps to get my stuff done and I always pin frequently used programs to the taskbar. Aside from the start screen change, everything is pretty much the same for my day to day work

Played with it in store...the only real knock I have is that it seems to open a few apps slower than I'd expect it too...I don't known if it was because of the store WiFi or what but it wasn't snappy and fast like the iOS or the newest phones on jellybean. I like the core features a lot though.

Which one did you use and what store did you go to? I want to see one.

i played around with this on a display PC. I ain't fukking with it at all. Agree that it seems cool for a tablet or phone but there's really no point in the Start screen shyt IMO. The right clicking also + no start button :scusthov:
