I'm just gonna say it: So far, I don't like Windows 8

Nope.
I could see it being better if I had a touch screen monitor or if I was using a tablet, but as a desktop OS, shyt is
so far.
The guys in the video seemed to be bytching a lot, but the more I watched I see where they're coming from.
Doesn't seem like much work can be done with that. Looked like all show and less production. And touch controls are cool, but sometimes I just need to use a mouse.
I'm going to build a PC soon, looks like I won't be fukking with this for it.
I plan on using mainly for media streaming to consoles/TVs and photo processing. Has anybody used PS3 Media Server or streaming there media with it yet?

This. I'm not exactly sure what people detest so much about the new Windows 8 UI. The design is extremely pleasing to the eye and it boots fast, runs smooth, is fairly unobtrusive and easy to use. Overall, I have been extremely impressed with its performance on all fronts. Furthermore, with the Windows 8 Pro version, you have built in Remote Desktop as well as Bitlocker encryption.
Furthermore if you completely hate the new OS, you can bypass the entire experience by simply clicking the desktop icon. Itd truly baffling that you have people like the OP that claim to hate the new OS when it literally takes nothing away to what Windows 7 users have been accustomed to and offers a plethora of new features.
Windows to me is literally a revolutionary OS and will likely be widely adopted amongst current Windows users. Of course you will have the old curmudgeons that will refuse to adapt, but overall I anticipate the reception to Windows 8 to be highly favorable.

Breh, you can till use a mouse. The touch is just an option. The UI shines with touch and mouse combinations though.
I know you can, but from the vid I just watched, and from people's reviews they've been clearly saying that the new UI is built for touch.

Im not surprised....a lot of polls were taken and Windows 7 users who had early access to 8, didnt like it (forgot where I read it but almost 60% preferred 7 to 8)
From the earlier versions I test drove my only issue is the metro ui
