The reason its a holiday is to create all this attention (local celebrity fame) for the troops so that it will gas the younger generation into risking their lives for wars that they will know little about so that they can get the same type of respect one day.

The army stay doing shyt to make sure the recruiting offices are busy. I remember either reading an article (or watching a documentary) about how they were using video games (call of duty type) as promotional tools to get people in the army.

Either way, I'm indifferent about it. Black people don't have any real freedom in America so it doesn't matter what they do overseas because black people are always first in line to get fuccked and disregarded. I don't need to see too many Rodney King's, Trayvon Martin's, Jordan Davis', Kendrick Johnson's or Natasha Lennard's to know how they feel about black folks in America...miss me with that "Im fighting for YOUR freedom bullshiit."
