@PhonZhi isn't stupid

he has a strong point about how hip hop
Is being used to sell damaging ideas...its a fact. Music is across the board. Britney spears was used to promote promiscuity at a young age. The big tymers promoted materialism ad nauseum...nwa went from how they don't smoke weed and cess, and how the police are ruining their environment, to killing hookers and the chronic album.

Its a incredibly true. He spoke on the results he saw (kids talking about lean) were directly correlated to future. I wondered about weed because of redman and dr. dre. Its perpetual.

Personally, I don't think hip hop is nearly exclusive to this but don't shoot the messenger (phonzi) in this case.

So in your opinion, is the glorification of drug use in music...

- hip-hops' fault?
- new?
- unacceptable?
- not for you, and you don't like any music that has anything to do with drugs?

Its all about having knowledge of our history:

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/iden...s-brutes-c00ns-toms-and-sapphires-etc.221290/

Once you gain awareness of certain things of the past it makes TODAY make better sense. Ive had a complete change of consciousness the past year after studying ways in which the white man has oppressed us in the past. And one of those ways has always been MEDIA PROPAGANDA and the INTENTIONAL manipulation of the black image. They are doing this using hiphop.

Ask yourself: who controls and dictates hiphop? Who signs your favorite rappers checks? WE LOST CONTROL OF HIPHOP. Our oppressors now control it. It would not be in their best interest to flood the airwaves with music that inspires and motivates positively. It would not be in their best interest to give artists that promotes intelligence, education and responsible spending habits the majority platform.

You gotta keep in mind that whte supremacy thrives on black people's ignrance and our materialism. The music reflects this

I LOVE hiphop. Grew up listening to it. Im probably one of the bigger "hiphop heads" here to be honest, but it pains me to see it being used against us.

To control a mass group of people you must gain control of their minds. You read the example on the 1st page. It works. Music and fancy imagery is extremely powerful and effective.

Why didn't you answer my questions?

Because you dont grasp the bigger picture. Ive made PLENTY of threads on this subject. By now you either agree or disagree. All i can say is study the past and today will make better sense as to why things are the way they are. You obviosly disagree. Not trying to change anybodys mind. Yours is already made up.

this is exactly my point. The making it seem "cool" part. I dont know how yall feel, but if the black community has ANY chance of ever combating white supremacy, we need as many strong, intelligent, drug-free minds as possible in the coming generations.
Its crazy but true.
It does feel "cool" to carry a double cup :ohlawd:

Weezy popularized being a drug addiction rapper and lean and double cups.
Crazy. His impact is what we see today

The white man rewarded him with grammys, and other signs of success

The bigger picture is that it has always been this way. And not just for hip-hop.
So knowing that, what are you really saying that is of note?

That music/media has the ability to influence. You agree with this rite?

Absolutely.

Plenty of posters have said that it has 0 influence on the human brain. You may need to direct your line of questioning towards those types of posters.

I don't think I do, because my line of questioning boils down to:

Now that you know this, what do you want us to do with this information?

Myself
If songs like 'White Manz World", "Me Against the World", and "Blasphemy" can begin to alter how I perceive things as a 9/10 year old, I can absolutely understand teenagers, young adults, and underdeveloped minds being influenced by the more negative aspects of Hip-hop.

It's up to the parents, and community leaders to do something. Unfortunately, too many Black parents and community leaders have been systematically divided and held back in one way or another.

Brehs and Brehettes need to really take in that Black people are getting hit from every angle. There's no 1 correct answer; it's like trying to plug multiple holes in a sinking ship. Op's concerns is one of those holes

We (black people) have to start ridiculing and shunning these puppets of white supremacy. They are paid traitors to the community. They are spreading poisonous messages to the youth. Again this is by design. We are at a turning point here in Amerikkka. We need a change of consciousness to one day be able to combat white supremacy. We need the following generation of youth to think intelligence, education and responsible spending is "cool". This whole culture of glorifying blacks killing blacks, extreme materialism and leading a criminal lifestyle must be exterminated. Will these things continue to happen? Of course. This world will never be perfect. But i think that promting positive messages and images would have a huge impact on the overall mental health of our community. The black youth has the smallest "circumference of awareness" of any group. Meaning they have the smallest amount of rolemodels that look like them doing certain things. They have PLENTY of rappers and ballplayers to look up to, but what about doctors, engineers, lawyers, etc? This must change. The problem tho is that the people that spread the most filth are also seen as the coolest unfortunately
