I didn't. My identity is more formed around the media I create. I'm a writer of speculative fiction "Afro-futurism" ect. If I was just a fan I would not consider myself a nerd. I am creator. I have fans who consume my work. I live in this section of the human experience and I love it while actively adding onto it and growing it.

So you are a comic writer and creator, now this is more interesting, you aren't a casual nerd, you should have said that in your OP or mention it in your title.

I started out doing so but published with a DMV bases black owned company called Advent Comics.

Out of the 4 comics I've published so far 3 have been with them.

I usually go on PencilJack and hire someone. They usually capture my vision very well. I learned being descriptive and detailed as possible helps. I also, always give photo references.
