Look at you. Emotional.

Your posts reek of insecurity.

You want to appear intelligent so badly, the desperation you want it is palapable in each post.

Why are you so smug? Do you work at some low level data entry job or at a call centre?
There's absolutely nothing emotional about what I wrote, nor was I particularly smug. Those are your insecurities and anger coming out as a result of the ringer you've been put through in here. Im not trying to appear anything. I tried to engage you in an earnest and simple debate and you had nothing to say.

There are subtexts within the show that are apparently so subtle to some that these few of you guys are convinced they arent in the show at all? I really believe that your same criticisms could be thrown at True Detective if someone was dense enough to simply drift off during the "slow paced dialogue" scenes and then act incredulous as if those scenes were all filler and nonsense. And then the burden of proof is on you to get into them and explain them or else I say there was nothing there. This is all genuinely surprising to me as most of the recurring themes, while carried out beautifully through the dialogue and storytelling, seemed pretty obvious to me. I wouldnt even call most of it subtext. Its right there in every therapy session between Will and Hannibal, every dinner conversation, and yes, the interpretations of every killer of the week. None of them are there just to be there. They all serve as either a means to drive the story or the conduit for the motif dealt with in the episode and tied back into the dynamic between Hannibal, Will and Jack, often all of the above. I mean, Im not making shyt up. Watch the damn show. Pay attention. I dont know how else to say that without sounding pretentious but it is what it is.

All that being said, what are you even doing trying to engage me again (with ad hominems, your fav) after you just backed down from your own "let's debate the show" challenge after the very first round like the biggest chickenshyt fraud I've ever seen? Lol fukk out my face.

The wire and mad men are my favorite shows of all time.

And you honestly don't think Hannibal is on the level with the first bunch of shows you mention?

And lets stop acting like every season of a show has to be stellar for the show itself to be exceptional.

Plenty of people don't even watch Mad Men. And plenty of people either don't like Season 2 or 5 of The Wire, but that doesn't take away from the show arguably being the GOAT show of all time.

Everybodies opinion is going to be different.

I mean, you've been debating me cordially this whole thread. I did go a little over board with my hate ill be honest. But thats only after i started being maliciously attacked for no reason.

Mad men is slow paced, subtle and very intelligent. But its not for everyone. If someone says they dont like it ill go cool we just have different tastes. Im not going to attack the person saying they just dont It get theyre too stupid.

Ive already said its a well made show, finely acted.

I just dont think its a great show.

I made this thread to express MY opinion. Im not entering the shows thread saying everyones wrong and trolling and derailing the thread.

That threads for the fans. This is for me.

If someone wants to have a friendly debate cool. But im just being attacked again and again. Its childish and ultimately puts more people off the show.

None of that applies to you of course. Youre cool in my book and i appreciate your cantor.

The wire and mad men are my favorite shows of all time.

Hannibal Season 1 is equal to or greater than The Wire Season 5

Hannibal Season 2 is equal to or greater than The Wire Season 1 and 2

Seems like a pretty strong start for the series

Breh.

You came out of nowhere attacking me as a person for no reason.

We have different tastes. If you come at me with personal attacks of course Im going to be defensive and not bothering to debate the details.

I'm more than capable of expressing my opinion extensively. We could have done that if you hadn't decided to be a prick and attack me.

I know you're not a bad poster, nor am I.

This thread was civil until you entered. You can debate without personal attacks.

Someone disagreeing on a subjective thing such as a tv show doesn't make them dumb. I'm not here praising jersey shore.

Ya, I'm through the first 10 episodes of season 2, and I gotta say I agree with @Prodigal Syndicate's assessments.

First season is ass for the first half, but gets better after that to become respectable a respectable. (Not better than any season of The Wire, tho, including season 5 :rudy:)

Second season is much better. Starts out great, but then hits a lull around the midpoint, seems to be picking up again now as I approach the end.

Overall, I can't believe nikkas is calling this the best show on television. It's second tier imo

Yup. Looks like you see it pretty much how I do.

Season 1 was better than season 5 of the wire I'd say. And season 2 I'd say is equal to seasons 1 and 2 of the wire but not close to seasons 3 or 4.

Solid show, definitely gonna tune in to season 3.

Season 2 finale is great, though again I'd say being over rated by the hannibal die hards.

But hey I guess that just Makes us too dumb to understand it. :heh:
