their catalogue is ferocious.
i'd have a hard time gettin convinced someone or some other group has been more consistent.
musically, these dudes are in other stratospheres than some of these cats making music these days. :smugdraper:

I say this all the time. You could argue some groups made better albums, but I would never put any group up against them in terms of consistency in or outside of hip hop. The fact that they technically formed in 1987 and dropped an album like Undun in this decade is insane. A lot of groups didn't even make it 5 years or even a decade while producing heat

Illadelph is up there with Midnight Marauders, Paid In Full, ATLIens, Moment of Truth, 1999 Eternal, etc.

I was in Phill when this dropped. It felt like Illmatic on some really capturing the era. "Really Do you want more" gave me that feeling like it was a great introduction. This solidified it.

Flawless and still sticks wit me. I still believe this is what Big Pun heard that made him say Black Thought was his favorite mc and reach out to work wit him.

I remember seeing the ideo for the lead single, "Clones" and rushing to the local music spot to cop the maxi single!!! Great memories:noah:

YES....

i remember hearing it and wondering "did the roots get ghostface on this joint?" that mars co-op cat was damn near a ghost clone voice wise.

and when the beat starts to drop in and malik's verse comes in spitting "don't come across that line or pay a cost/knuckle games and hammer cocked ain't nothing sweet or soft/win, lose, or draw to the jaw take one.." man that's my shyt for real. :gladbron:

on the real, once malik b. got on that ish and left the crew, they weren't the same to me. that's what i contribue the dropoff after TFA. i'm glad he was able to sober up enough to rip the Game Theory lp though.

and i didn't really fukk with the roots back in the organix days at all but once i heard "Do You Want More?!?" & "Proceed" i was hooked.

Word. Too many quotables in that song. I like the line where dud said something about chopping a dude's windpipe. LoL shyt was classic. Classic posse cut. I can play that track 10 times straight without getting tired of it

The atmosphere created by the harmonies of the Jazzyfatnasteez on that beat:ahh:

Word. It's not a coincidence that a lot of songs and albums that sampled Jazz still sound just as good as when they dropped.

Really? :leon:

If I had to rank em it would go Ill > Things > How I got Over(this is where everything is pretty much equal in terms of quality) > Undun > DYWM > Rising Down > Game Theory > TP > Phrenology > Organix

Their catalog is insane. After Illadelph it's hard to rank everything:whew:

I pretty much rank them the same, but I've come to love How I Got Over more than Things Fall Apart. Illadelph is their best tho and another great chapter in what was '96.
