We watched Steph get married, raise his family, go through the bullshyt years and endure all the ankle injuries, we know his family and friends names, we seen him from draft night and the drama with Monta to becoming an MVP and a champion. He's our Rocky...nobody was getting more love here than dude and I mean nobody.
I think there is a difference between Steph being the favorite and KD being the scapegoat. On twitter, and Warriors forums I'd visit anytime the Warriors were having a rough stretch the default move was to blame Durant. Whenever Steph or Klay were slumping the blame went to Durant for changing the Warriors play style and throwing them out of rhythm. That shyt has to get old.

you can find negativity anywhere if you’re looking for it.

As for the Warriors and their fans and KD I think the problem was that the team had no external rival to force them to band together so there was nothing left to do but nitpick at everything.

I remember reading a Zach lowe article where he said that Bob Myers told him that KD never felt more part of the team than when they beat Houston in Game 7 last year.

They didn’t come up as a team together so there was nothing really to keep him there.

And like @threattonature just said, whenever there was struggles(of which there were few) he’d get the blame

It's a losing battle trying to figure out what KD wants.

Guy was tired of being 2nd & went to a team where he was always going to be 2nd no matter what he did. Part of the reason for him going to GS was supposedly because he doesn't want to be the leader like that & just wants to be part of the team, until someone else is getting more credit for something.

Guy did this weird shyt after he left OKC too where all of a sudden after he leaves his people come out & let you know about all this random shyt he didn't like that is never brought up until he's gone.

Analysts and fans alike are doubling down on their speculations about why Kevin Durant felt compelled to leave the Warriors and sign with the Brooklyn Nets. According to The Undefeated NBA writer Marc Spears, who cites a source "close to Durant," the four-time NBA scoring champion felt like he was operating in Steph Curry's shadow.

"While Durant’s shocking move to join the Warriors in 2016 quickly paid dividends for him — two straight championships and two Finals MVP awards — there was always the sense that the 10-time All-Star felt like a distant second fiddle to Stephen Curry," he writes. "Perhaps it would have helped the Warriors’ cause if their fans showed more love and appreciation for Durant’s elite achievements."

When asked about the negativity that took place between Durant and the Warriors in the 2018-19 season, the source said: “All that showed a lack of respect for one of the greatest players to put that uniform on and the fact that he took all that abuse and still put his career on the line to help them win."

Kevin Durant Reportedly 'Felt Like a Distant Second Fiddle to Stephen Curry'

Steph embraced KD from the start. If anything I think the warriors organization made some weird comments about KD that undermined his contributions. I know Bob Myers made a bad joke at a championship parade about KD that was embarrassing. And I think the draymond fight during the clippers game solidified KD leaving. That’s why I think the warriors retired his number and Bob Myers was crying when talking about KD’s injury. They know they fukked up.

And I don’t think KD leaving is as complex as ppl are making it out to be. He said he wanted to play a fun style of basketball so he joined the warriors and it helped the Bay is a big market. And recently he said he just wants to play with his friends and have fun hence Kyrie and Jordan.

Honestly I could be wrong as hell. I think Kevin Durant is just soft all the way through and needs to be coddled and handled with kid gloves...I honestly am curious to see how he responds when he comes out because over the course of this season Irving will be seen as the star of that team and he's from the area and will likely receive a lot more attention...Kyrie may end up taking a lion share of the attention and when KD comes back it could be the same issue he ran into with Russell and I guess Steph...It's not the players that have the issue with KD it's KD that seems to have the issue with them.

How are both of these dudes going to handle the New York media? especially since New York is now their city to be honest.

I hope kd gets the help he needs, he needs to talk to a professional it's clear that he has severe depression and absolutely doesn't know who his self is.. Him responding to every little thing was the first sign but people passed it off as him checking the people talking down on him, nope.

No superstar responses to every little thing like kd and it's clear he makes every decision based on what people want him to do. I hope he finds his peace, but he going to a team with Kyrie who may be going through the same thing.
Does he tho:jbhmm:

We really here talking about love and attention....so the winning just can't be enough? :snoop:
Reality is that winning has diminishing returns. This is prob the #1 reason dynasties only last a couple years.

To me, I think if it was such a huge problem with the warriors he wouldn’t have helped with the sign and trade or came back during the finals.

I think outsiders tend to sensationalize everything that goes on with these dudes, they’re just normal human beings dealing with life with us around to pick everything apart.
