Homegrown talent is always going to get more love than a mercenary, granted that they are relatively even impact wise.
Its foolhardy af to think you can get more or even as much love as Steph in the Bay. I.M.P.O.S.S.I.B.L.E.
Colorism plays a factor but, he also is the clean cut, God fearing family man. Who happens to also be the best shooter of all time and only unanimous MVP. Also the driving force to the franchises first chip in 40 years. All that before KD was even thought of as a possibility. Jordan in his prime had no chance to usurp Steph as far as love in the Bay.
All that said. KD still was loved and absolutely needed. Hope he finds his happiness and peace in BK.
