those of us who aren't :flabbynsick: grew up with harry potter b :camby:

real talk. Anyone whose 24-27 right now pretty much grew up around these books. I was pretty much the same age as the characters as they aged through the series so it was easy to relate. And the books came out in pretty quick succession so each year at Hogwarts was the same as when I was going through high school. Hell I pretty much graduated the same time as Harry Potter graduated and the series ended.

Now if dudes who 30-40 if fukkin with this shyt then I'd be suspicious. Cause I'm 26 now and there is now way I'd be fukkin with a similar books if it came out right now.

JK's comments really come off mind of left field for anyone whose read the books as the Ron/Hermione pairing was hinted in book 2 and OBVIOUS by book 4. It's the Harry/Ginny pairing that always rang a bit false to me. First she's this timid little girl with a crush whom Harry hardly pays attention too and has to go to the Yule Ball with the school lap dog Neville and SUDDENLY she's this confident dime piece with 2-3 boy boyfriends who Harry is smitten with?:heh:

co-sign on the Ginny shyt. her transformation from GOF to HBP was straight basura.

only reason I'm not down with the Ron/Hermione pairing is cause of the movies and the dime piece Emma Watson is. after seeing the movies, she's the only Hermione I can imagine and there is no way a chick that cute and that smart would settle for a herb like Ron. specially when she's hanging out the gawd himself Harry Potter. also there is no way Harry wouldn't have had interest in her considering she was prolly the baddest bytch in the school.

JK shoulda tossed that Ron/Hermoine shyt cause no believes it after seeing Emma Watson

it literally sold 100 copies until someone "leaked" who actually wrote it
It had universal critical acclaim before it was ever revealed who wrote it. (of course a book from an UNKNOWN author is going to sell 1500 copies) I don't care about how many copies it sold. Critics even theorized it was a pen name because of how well written it was.

and the big elephant in the room....what was the obsession with JKR and mentioning every second about how Ginny was so "masterful" at this bullshyt "Bat Bogey Hex" "Curse of the Bogies" ...acting as if turning boogers into bats that attack you made Ginny the Android 18 of Hogwarts

about hermione....people take the emma wattson looked different in the movies far too seriously....especially since after she got rid of her buck teeth in the 4th book it kept talking about in the books how she grew into her looks...

while we are speaking of harry....lets get to the point of discussing how after the mid point of the movies...daniel radcliffe's acting game became absolutely horrendous and its one of the reasons why people have these certain feelings on harry....in the book this guy was giving smart ass disses to his elders "You don't have to call me sir Professor" :heh:

That's the publishing world, b.

Plenty of good books go unnoticed because they're written by people who don't have a name yet.

The Harry Potter series could have easily been like that. Her manuscript got rejected like 17 times. The initial print run was 500 books. It took two years for the first book to sell 300,000 copies. It doesn't mean that she's not a good writer. Its just that the average person is not an early adopter. They only become interested after enough people have made a buzz about it.

The reason most people don't respect Ron's character is because he was virtually b*stardized in the movies, made into a comic relief idiot whereas in the books that is NOT the case. Ron was ride or die for Harry since the moment they met, even during 5th year when the wizarding world turned on Harry and refused to believe that Voldemort was back, Ron was riding for him. The only times Ron and Harry were at odds were in GOF where Ron thought Harry somehow got his name in the hat and of course in DH where the locket was influencing him negatively.

The movies make Ron out to be a total loser whereas in the books Ron's just about as skilled as Harry. Also the Ron/Hermione relationship is given more room to grow naturally. Ron started showing feelings for Hermione as far back as Chamber Of Secrets when he tried to turn Draco into a slug for insulting Hermione and when he was jealous of her crush on that fraud Defense Against The Dark Arts Teacher. Also Ron was quite skilled at Quidditch and was a gifted Keeper, his nerves were the only thing that held him back.

I like that you mention this because I think it brings up a main gripe that I have. Despite Ron being skilled in his own right Rowling didn't really let him put in work like she did with Hermione.

After winning the wizard chess game he didn't get another W until like the 5th book. And even those were only partial Ws because Harry had to get kicked off the team for him to finally shine and he was Dumbledore's second option behind Harry for prefect.

@tru_m.a.c has some damn good ideas...

anyway once again ABC is showing a HP movie(they really are the tnt version with lord of the rings with the obsession)

So it was HBP and it was that cheesy ass scene with ginny saying "shoelace" and tying harry's shoes and leaning in to kiss him on some corny shyt...

the only thing I disagree with you slightly though is cho chang...if hermione is too dawson creek and ginny is too close to his best friend...I think JK Rowling should have created an entirely new female character

this could have been brought up by mentioning a new wizard school like done with durmstrang and that school Fleur came from....

hermione never really had a female rival did she....you know where im going with this now

Mhmmm She should've…..

JK opened and closed the book on the wizarding world so fast. I'm glad you brought up this point. I thought this shyt the moment they went to the Quidditch Cup. The wizarding world spans the entire globe. But the entire series takes place in like 5 places.

Why was she so rushed to have Harry fight Voldemort before he graduated? Why was she so rushed to have Harry fight Voldemort PERIOD?

:sas1::sas2:

lol not exactly…but are you tryna to say she envisioned herself as hermione and thus RIP'd the competition
