Joe Tacopina got a long history of repping NY rappers and i think athletes too. They must be real confident.

Rocky’s attorney Joe Tacopina also revealed for the first time in court Tuesday that the defense plans to call witnesses to testify that a firearm seen on a security video is a starter pistol that Rocky carried as a prop for security.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A$AP Rocky turned down a final prosecution plea offer of 180 days in jail, risking the possibility of a guilty verdict and years in prison as jury selection began at his trial on Tuesday.

The agreement offered to the 36-year-old hip-hop star, fashion mogul and actor was to plead guilty to one of two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm. Los Angeles County prosecutors would also recommend a seven-year suspended sentence, three years of probation and the six-month jail term.

But Rocky, whose legal name is Rakim Mayers, told a judge he respectfully declined.

He is accused of firing at a former friend near a Hollywood hotel in 2021, and could get a maximum sentence of 24 years in prison if convicted. He has pleaded not guilty.

Rocky’s attorney Joe Tacopina also revealed for the first time in court Tuesday that the defense plans to call witnesses to testify that a firearm seen on a security video is a starter pistol that Rocky carried as a prop for security.

The attorney strategy is beyond stupid. You think the person he pointed the gun at knew that at the time.

Yes, he should have taken the jail time while his kids are young. Probably would be released earlier serving less. Its california

Now, He wont get 24 years but will probably end up getting like 10 years or some shyt like that :manny:
Trump might free him again :yeshrug:

His crime is on video and the victim is going to testify so more than likely he's about to be bunkees with Tory :mjlol:

Rocky must've hired Breh & Breh Associates to represent him because according to the State of California a starter pistols meets the legal definition of a firearm.

A “firearm” includes:

  • Any weapon (including a starter gun) which will, is designed to, or can be converted to eject a bullet by the action of an explosive
  • The frame or receiver of any such weapon
  • Any firearm muffler or firearm silencer
  • Any destructive device
Cal. Penal Code § 29800 (West)

I'd probably just take the deal unless my lawyer was extremely confident I'd win the case.

Yes, especially after seeing Tory Lanez get 10 years.

He could have pushed that shyt back too. Put on some weight and learn how to fight before doing the time.

Or use his celebrity to get the dudes in there to like him.

Heard lanez bad to be in solitary confinement and they were trying to wiggle money out of him.
Rocky knows how to fight and been to jail before. He should have just took the deal, did the time and moved on. He rich af and his baby mama, his record don't matter that much.
