If you think about it a bit, why is Nastradamas considered a "wack album"?

most people diss "nastadamus" beat but don't know about this

Nastradamus is without a doubt Nas worst album, even though it has more good songs than bad songs. "Some of us have angels" is very underrated song for example.

It was obvious nas didn't take enough time to focus on the album because he released it few moths after "I am" which wasn't something Nas was used to. Then you got his mother getting really sick at the same time. Nas should've pushed Nastradamus back because it wasn't ready.

overall, I'd give it 3/5 (barely above average in my book)

FCCK!! Blasphemy of me of not mentioning "Come N Get Me" ! that was another thing that added to the album, the primo track!

I always thought the Nastradamus beat was hot. The track wasn't bad IMO.

Yeah, Shoot Em Up is probably my favorite track on the album. Haven't listened to the whole album in years tho, I should listen to it again to give u an updated opinion.

Project Windows is another great track. Also You Owe Me is good for what it is. A club record. Nothing more, nothing less.
You owe me a good club record?
It's one of the worst club tracks I've heard, oochie wally was catchy as fukk but You owe me is fukking ass.

What his competitors was doing at the time was good for what they were, nah they were classics. Big pimpin, back that ass up, ryde or die bytch, put it on me, Can I get A, party up all the way to how many licks and those joints. You owe me was complete garbage 0/5, sounds like someone held a gun to his head and forced him to drop it.

As far as Nastradamus, it was weak, probably the weakest album a top 10 rapper has released but it wasn't a 1/5 album it was still average.

high expectations. Illmatic made him an icon for hip hop heads and he progressively became more commercial and embracing a "gangsta" attitude. That album for many was like "fukk it we can't deny anymore that he isn't the saviour of "real" hip hop", making it open season on his rep

The beat was hot. That's enough to make it a good club record IMO. That's all that matters when ur making that kind of track. People ain't really paying that much attention to lyrics on a club record.

Not as good as other club bangers but it was all right.

He shoulda released come get me as the first single similar to Nas is like on i am. Then gave us god loves us. Visuals had video of the year making. Then gave us project windows for that soulful sound. And end it with family. Cant ho wrong with a NaS mobb deep collabo.

There's really nothing to think about, it's weak. The posts talking about expectations and comparing it to other albums are weak too.
But if you like it, you like it. That's all that should matter.

I thought it was Timbalands worst beat to date when it dropped even Ginuwines worst vocals, idk maybe it's just me. But that joint is incredibly wack to me.

And lyrics on a club record are important if lyrics is what you have to offer. Cause he wasn't offering energy, charisma or other things that someone like Waka Flocka or energy might offer. Hook is another important thing and as mentioned it was worthless.

If that's how u feel then what can I say? :manny:

I thought it was all right. It coulda been Timbos worst beat so far at the time but he sure has put out a lot wacker sh!t since then.

The whole track was cool with me. The lyrics weren't too bad and the vocals were ok. I've heard way worse club records over the years that get a lot of love so I dunno...

Missy Elliot is a good example of wack ass club records. She gets hot Timbo beats but she's garbage and she's had a lot of success in the club scene.

As much hate as Streets Disciple gets to me Nastradamus is next to HHID as his worst release (2 duds in a pretty flawless discography is pretty impressive especially in this day in age). Wasnt the originally plan was to just let Nastradamus be left over I Am.... tracks but Nas decided against it and quickly recorded a new tracks for the album and put it out by years end.

Both singles were wack. "you owe me" saved the album sales though. the radio and clubs were loving it. According to Nas, he recorded "you owe me" because he found the album too dark after finishing it. So he decided to put a light song for the clubs on the lp in the last minute. Not very artistically bold move.

Am I the only one who liked "big girl"?
