I wish I grew up in both Sacramento and Raleigh, two cities I didn't get more familiar with until adulthood...
I was born in Sacramento and spent my early life there, but was gone to LA before I started school. The rest of my adolescence between 5 to 17 included LA, Little Rock, Memphis, two different areas in Virginia, and Fayetteville NC. I do think my upbringing shaped me in some positive ways, but there's a disconnect from sense of place I didn't really have, until I returned to Sacramento at 22...
And later with Raleigh, I was 30 when I moved here. So ideally I'd have loved to have my entire upbringing split just between these two cities...
Or, just Los Angeles, which I believe is hands down the greatest city in America and I have some outstanding memories from both childhood and adulthood in LA...
