Edit: So y'all gonna give back 300 but keep drug shipment level money? :mjlol:
Exactly. Logic is backwards as fukk. If you find a bag with $200,000 in it and decide to keep it... you better hope nobody saw you pick that shyt up. Because when you hear a knock on your door and you look through the peep hole a see 4 individuals wearing ski masks saying that they want to talk to you about some money you found.

:pachaha:
Nothing backwards about that logic.

Folks can empathize with someone who loses their wallet, with what likely is all the money they have left until their next check. They don't, however, see themselves in someone who has "drug shipment level money", because the same moral and struggle-to-make-ends-meet reflection isn't there. I'm the same, I have never and will NEVER come across a wallet with money in it and take it; I'd always find a way to get it back to its rightful owner, exactly as I found it. If I come across $200k, I'm doing everything humanly possible to make sure nobody knows I took it.

So back in the day when I was a college kid I was late coming from my class, leaving to go home for the weekend

I saw this kid super far in front of me from my class. His wallet fell out of his pocket I guess

Saw this dude ID and social card and everything in there. He had like $500 cash. As a young kid that money was bout to mean the world to me. I’d be king for a weekend with my friends

I contemplated what to do. I thought about all the various solutions

my moral compass ultimately led to me giving him the wallet back with everything in it on Monday. I couldn’t knowingly take that mans money and then sit in class with him the rest of the semester

Monday I have it too him. After class he came up to me and thanked me profusely. He took the $ out and handed it to me. I told him I couldn’t accept it but he said that wasn’t important to him, that his information like a social card/drivers lisc/medical stuff was everything. He was foreign, born in another country, the $$$ wasn’t important, but all those documents would be a massive issue for him if he lost them

one of the best “do the right thing and karma will sort itself out” moments I’ve ever had in my life

Cool story bro...

my roommates found like a couple thousand in a wallet once, we found the lady and returned it. She cashed her check and was on her way to western union to send money home to bring someone in her family for surgery or something. She was siiiiiick up until we hit her up on FB. Returning the wallet to her was an awesome feeling.

This happened to me twice.

First time, I was walking to my apartment and found a wallet. I checked it and saw my neighbor's ID. It was filled with money too but didn't bother counting. I immediately returned it.

Second time it happened I was in the parking lot of the supermarket. I'm trying to park but there's a cart in my way. I jump out to move the shopping cart and I saw a woman's clutch purse in the cart. Checked it and it had a couple of hundred dollars in it. (didn't count it again) The person's ID was also in the purse. So I took it to the store and gave it to the manager.

Now if I find money and there's no ID then I look at it as God's blessings.:yeshrug:

HELL
Return the wallet and money to its owner.

I left my phone in the break room at a temp job, the phone was locked but I had a pic of me and my girl as the background wallpaper. So someone found it and returned it to me. Being a simp paid off that day, I only got it back because of the picture. Best feeling in the world when people actually have some decency!

And keep Matthew chap 6 verse 1 in mind:

"Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven."

True story...

Had a coworker find a wallet in midtown with $1000 in it...

Told him to keep the money and turn the wallet into the dude at the security desk...

He decided to call the wallet owner (business card in the wallet) and return it to him himself thinking he'd get a reward...

Turns out the wallet belonged to a 15 year old Jewish kid who worked for his uncle in the diamond district...

Kid showed up with his uncle and at first just took his wallet back and shook his hand...

Apparently the kids uncle said something to him and then they gave my coworker $100...

If you found a wallet on the ground with $300 in it... what would you do?

1. Keep the $300 and put the wallet back on the ground close to where you found it.

2. Keep the $300 but try to anonymously get the wallet back to the owner.

3. Try to get the wallet and the money back to the owner of the wallet.

What would you do?

Would this be you?

"Man... I'm keep this money!"

Have any of yall ever lost a wallet?

IF you not gonna give the money back. PLEASE give the wallet back.
