If you could go back to when you first started pursuing gainz, what advice would you give yourself?

- don't gain weight for the sake of being heavy.

- always keep some sort of conditioning in your routine

- don't be such a hipster about exercises, just because bench is "mainstream" doesn't mean it doesn't have a rightful place in a balanced workout routine.
Damn this is pretty much it for me, though I will add

- stop ego lifting on deadlift.... pulling 405 for 6 is meaningless with a ~225 squat

- speaking squats.... learn how to do them correctly

- log your workouts and devise some kind of progression scheme, you've been doing 205x8-10 for YEARS

- dont do pec flys, our shoulders will thank you later

- never under any circumstances go over 190lbs, unless you are moving 2-3x that for reps on squats/deads.... you're 5' 9", natty and not that strong. There's no reason for it

- use knee sleeves and a belt

Damn so much I wish I had done differently. But fukk it... we're here :blessed:

The most important thing is diet. Learn everything single thing about it, learn to manipulation your body through diet
Second most important is gear. Learn everything from A-Z about it and run it asap
Thirdly, form and muscle concentration over numbers

man so much muscle was gained and lost just off of ignorance.

-Abs are made in the kitchen, you don't have to do a shyt ton of cardio

-Keep lifting heavy, even if you want abs (this goes with number one) I use to think cutting meant all light weight and cardio.

-Count calories

-Keep up with progress.

I been lifting since 12 and have probably treaded water since 17. Im 28 now and just start following some of that advice @ 26. :francis:

Should have also attempted to increase my conditioning, and also stretch.

I just walk in, lift weights, walk out. I should stretch, do some cardio, lift some weights, some cool down stretches, maybe some cardio if i feel like it. then walk out

I did this exact routine in high school and I felt great, too :upsetfavre:
