How you figure that? Owning a car and truck(that's paid off) is dumb now?
It's not. Having transportation increases your earnings potential exponentially. I don't know how many friends i have who had to pass a great job opportunity due to the commute. Not everything in your life is going to be walking distance from a subway station.

Plus If you're paying for cabs on the regular you could've used that money to pay for cheap 1990 something worth $1000 and saved the rest that money for anything else.

Most of the people i know who are anti car are really just too proud to get the one they can afford which might be an old rust bucket. but who cares as long as it gets you where you need to go. My first car was an $850 saturn. never had any problems with it. except for a flat tire once. People talking not being able to afford lease payments:mjlol: just means they trying to buy themselves a Hummer when they should be getting a Honda

You can only drive one vehicle at a time,
when you're not driving it, it's sitting,
when it's sitting, it's exposed and vulnerable to the elements and bad actors
it's depreciating
it's something you have to pour money into incessantly.

I have transitioned to using ride sharing services 90% of the time. When I need a vehicle, it's there and when I don't need one, it's not. I don't have to worry about parking, hitting someone and being liable, I don't have to worry about insurance rates increasing or the mental overhead that comes with driving. Even if I'm stuck in traffic, I don't fret because I'm not piloting through it, I'm free to do more important things than avoiding the person who wants to snapchat themselves driving or apply makeup.

In my time using ridesharing services, I've reached the conclusion that they actively drive safer than other non-ridesharing workers because their job literally depends on providing a safe experience.

Owning cars are more headache than they're worth which is why car companies want you to be emotionally tied to the vehicles and see them as status symbols instead of what they really are, means of transportation that get us from one place to the next.

So your argument is what if i crash?:sadbron: cars are dangerous. driving is stressful.:mjlol: relax, it's not that serious.

Also if you don't have a garage at your crib. you need to be worrying car depreciation from weather.
Like i said buy a used rust bucket and save up for nice house with a two car garage.

When I'm not driving my car, I drive an old truck to transport building materials, HVAC Units, Furniture, etc for my other business endeavors. It's also used for secondary transportation if something happens to my primary mode of transportation.....The utility value of my truck alone offsets what one would call "depreciation" according to "market" dollars...... and no, neither vehicle is even close to being a money pit, outside of standard maintenance...... vehicles are the only way to be mobile in the majority of cities.... not sure what your point is

Crashes are an inherent risk of driving, I'm not worried about it happening, I just don't want to be liable in the even that it does, with ride sharing, I have abstracted that concern away. And driving is very stressful, I used to commute 45 minutes to work and would feel energized when I arrived no matter the traffic conditions. I think people fail to appreciate how stressful and mentally taxing driving is especially in traffic, this is yet another thing I don't have to care about because I'm not the one driving so I don't have to think about it. I've discovered that traffic is only a problem for me when I'm the one driving.

I agree, vehicles are the only way to be mobile in major cities, this doesn't mean you have to own one to get the benefits of their existence. I enjoy the benefits of owning a vehicle and none of the cons which include but aren't limited to, maintenance, fuel, insurance, finding parking. When I need a vehicle, it's there, when I don't, it simply doesn't exist and isn't a concern. Building cities around cars first and public transportation being an afterthought has tons of cascading negative effects on not just the environment but health on an individual scale. I live in Texas where truck culture is huge and I can't tell you how many large vehicles I see on the highway after work with ONE PERSON driving them, it's pretty disgusting tbh.

Who broke?
Most people who invest in cars.
Maybe if you said two homes or two pieces of real estate which businesses are run out of
A car is the worst investmentunless you get it for dirt cheap and can immediately flip it
But with the advent of tools like Kelly bluebook shyt like that is very rare these days
You got private sellers selling at damn near dealer prices
