In the minds of many he was.
There's phenomenal truth to this. In Africa, Christian churches have a white Jesus.
I heard this from a Nigerian I work with. I almost turned Athiest the same day.
I'm Agnostic though and it's very easy to be
In the minds of many he was.
You wouldnt argue that. Its not like slave masters werent getting handled but being out gunned behind enemy lines where you stick out like a sore thumb, its a little difficult to amass an army and military strategies to overthrow your oppressors. One could argue. You should be ashamed.
No, I'm talking about the fact that the slave masters specifically taught their slaves Christianity with the specific purpose to show that God/Jesus wants slaves to be obedient to their masters. It's a fact that the Bible teaches that owning other people as property is just fine, and was used to justify slavery in America particularly.
Im sure it would have worked if they werent beating them like animals. Because of that, slave owners were getting their heads flown.
Sure... but the Bible also explains how you can beat your slaves until they're near-death, but if they live after a day or two then it's okay.
What an awesome god you have
Hes got you where you are today. You probably have a lineage of Christians in your family but here you are, spitting on them as if their faith was meaningless. You are a joke and a sellout.

Whatever offspring you create wont even be black in 100 years. You're gone.I'm a sellout for not believing in fairy tales. Oh okay man
Yeah, I'm a proud first generation atheist in my family. I don't blame my ancestors, they were ignorant, what can I say? It wasn't their fault though, they didn't have nearly the amount of information about the universe as we do today. You, on the other hand, are without excuse. And yet you still cling to mythology... It's okay. You continue to pray for me, and I'll continue to think for you.
I love my ancestors and what they have done. But we can't attribute their success to Christianity. I won't go as far as TS and say their "koons" but it is a fact that Christianity was tought to us by slave owners to give us false hope, and keep us docile. Our strength and faith has gotten us through rough times and helped us with civil rights, etc. But i think we GAVE that strength and faith to Christianity, not the other way around.
Whatever offspring you create wont even be black in 100 years. You're gone.
False hope? Its over.
It was false hope when they gave it to us. We turned it into real results
Did we? I thought they were the ones that freed us because they wanted to make more money for the government?
who said that. They where killing each other cause they wanted us to stay slaves. Our strength and our will to live forced them to free us and give us rights. We took our lives back from them.
There greed forced them to free us. The side that wanted to turn us into tax payers won and now here we are, modern day slaves. But still, to reject the principals taught by Christ is lunacy and anyone who would do so is engaged in behavior that will be the downfall of society.
