So it's only self hate when you do it to look like another race :snoop: y'all excusing their self hatred, that's how it's caping.

so we should ignore the racial element? damn, black people have a foot on their neck. You heard about the Pastor that banned black women from wearing weave in his church? Why you think he did that?

well what level of self hatred do you wanna take it to? because if you want to go with all women being insecure, then that's just a way to put whatever fukked up shyt black women are doing under the same umbrella.

when i see a white girl with blonde hair (even though shes brunette), with blue contacts (even though her eyes are brown). admittedly, i dont see her as self hating as the black girl with a blonde weave and blue contacts. i mean if that's caping for cacs, i guess i'm guilty.
but how i see it, she's not trying to be like you, you're completely denouncing your own beauty to look like her.

Pretty much these guys wants us to come out and say all black women wear weaves because we all want to be white and have self hate issues. The problem is a small amount of women that wear them is because of that reason. I don't think anyone is dismissing that reasoning but using that small percent to say ALL black women do it for that reason is kinda dumb.

Live by the words of Tommy Sotomayor brehettes (which is hilarious because he doesn't have a spanish or hispanic background but uses that as his stage name)

Don't ignore the racial element when it's there but don't ignore plain ole self hared as well. But you already admitted they hate themselves as well, so we can drop it...

You tell me

A minority of white women doing plastic surgey to look like celebrities

A majority of black women around the globe, covering their natural hair with a hair texture that belongs to another race

You tell me what is worse?

If a child is illiterate, would you encourage them to read, or throw a book at their face? Obviously, it's better for a woman to embrace her hair the way it grows out of her scalp, but if she doesn't -- the only way to change her state of mind is through sharing knowledge; not chucking a white woman in front of her face saying, "look how natural she is. You wish you could be like her. I pity you!"

Yeah, but it's still self hatred either way. Same way a hispanic girl/asian girl/whatever girl doing it. It's all the same to me, to be honest.

and do you believe you fall in that self hating category.

because it's really, REALLY hard to get any of you to admit "yes, i'm doing this because i have a negative image of black hair in its natural state, and i prefer a more european look"

You tell me what is worse?

getting things injected into your body permanently to look like someone else = ok

getting weave sew in your hair temporarily, so your hair looks different/so you don't have to manipulate your real hair = terrible thing.

got it!

I'm no longer acknowledging your posts on black female issues, Marcuz so stop quoting. There's no point in debating a brickwall.

I used to relax my hair because it was curly. I remember when my mother used to comb my hair, she would complain about how thick it was and would use words such as, 'hard' and 'rough' to describe it. She has cooli hair which is pretty much straight hair. I did hate my hair; but I didn't hate my race. I just didn't know how to take care of curly hair properly because i was never taught how to. All people need is more knowledge and less judgement. I think.
