My old roommates' brother constantly badgered his wife when she went natural. He told her that he didn't like it or all those weird natural hairstyles she wore (twist outs, braid outs, and etc). I don't think he threatened divorce, but he definitely expressed that he wasn't attracted to her like that. This same roommate's boyfriend did the same thing. I know a few other girls whose boyfriends gave them a hard time.

I didn't experience that though because I transitioned with weave.

@marcuz I'll sure you'll disagree, but you really diluted the potency of your stance once you stated that you'd rather a woman wear a "kinky" weave than a short fro'. Again, if you were really down for natural movement (and anti-weave) you'd NEVER say such a thing.

And going natural is indeed a "journey" because women are learning about their hair and understanding it in a way that they never did before.
