Sin cara was absolutely terrible. Dude was botching like crazy & didn't translate at all with the audience.

Lord tensei was garbage & another one that got a huge push & didn't translate well with the audience.

Like 90% of the nxt stars that make the jump didn't translate well to the main roster. It's a different animal being on the road than it is being in that studio in Orlando.

Nxt stars are the equivalent of NY basketball prospects. Overhyped.

Wade barrett predates nxt & he was given plenty of opportunities throughout his tenure.

A lot of the nxt dudes that left that little bubble got exposed.:yeshrug:

Injuries is what killed Barrett. He was a really good talker and more than serviceable in the ring, but every time he was given the ball, he’d get injured.

Had they simply made Tensai’s return as A-Train or Albert, I think he would’ve fared better. The problem was under the Tensai gimmick, they never tried to explain anything other than “he was in Japan previously”. With no reasonable explanation, there was no way that gimmick would work with a crowd that was still very familiar with his previous gimmicks.

True but a lot of the folks that struggled got trash booking. Especially the tag teams.

It's one thing for someone to fail on the roster b/c they can't get the audience to buy in (i.e. No Way Jose) but it's a whole other situation when people are riding the wave and WWE squanders it (i.e. Elias, Rusev, or Shinsuke). To me the latter isn't going bust b/c you can't put that on the performer. They did their job (sometimes, as in Rusev's case, multiple times), it was the company that didn't hold up their end of the deal.

Nope..got very over and is only out via injury.

She was the first NXT call-up that had all this buzz and momentum, but her time on the main roster wasn't a reflection of that. Not many memorable moments or matches, was injured half the time, and was spinning her wheels after her first year. I know she was forced into retirement, but when you compare her three years to what the Horsewomen or Asuka have done, it's like she wasn't even there.

@TheGreatShowtime knows. :mjlit:

The only answers imo are Sin Cara, Tensai, O 'Haire, Staziak, and Palumbo.

Why I'm seeing Nakamura on here is beside me? I get it he didn't pan out in the main event scene but he has been a solid fixture in the mid card/tag team scene with numerous titles.

Basically the equivalent of a Marvin William's career. Didn't become the superstar that he was meant to be but wound up with a solid pro career overall.
