i'm i the only one who thinks weddings are the biggest scams out there?
it's all marketing marketing marketing, from de boers marketing engagement rings, to the big pomp and cinderella disney marketed, the establishment should be destroyed, from wedding banquet halls at 100 dollar a plate, to expensive wedding dresses, renting big churches, limos, paying thousands of dollars for photography etc.
In the good old days

, women just wore the best dress they had, men a reg suit, a simple wedding, aunt bernice making the cake, uncle dan taking photos on the old pentax, reception in the backyard at grandpa or the school gym rented for 50 a hour with appetizers and finger foods.
I was almost married once, thankfully my ex parents paid for all that ish and lost it all when we broke up, but if i were to ever ever think of ever getting married again, like john goodman mentioned i would just choose a island like hawaii or something or a cruise, you weed out all the fake people as only hardcore famlieies and real friends will spend that money to go, plus you can double it up as a honeymoon as well after.
i love how folks spend like 40k on thier wedding and go back to their rented apartment after the honeymoon
disgusting.
