If this mania doesn't have the highest buyrates ever, is it rock's fault?

If the buyrate sucks it'll be Vince's fault. Nobody wanted Cena vs Rock 2 that was cokeboy's call. It won't though they got what a little under 4 weeks to build upon the top 3 matches which they are counting on to sell the show Rock/Cena being the most important. A re-match nobody wanted but the one they chose to ME.

Oh look at this..he's been missing the news over the last 9 months:laugh:

The Rock headlined the most successful wrestling even that was ever produced. More than anything ever....the Trump number was beaten. The Hogan era was beaten. The Austin era was beaten. He stands with no peer these days. He's his own island..Raw was doing 2.5s in November and December. Rock comes back and instantly the shyt is almost back to 4.0 for a 3 hour fukking travesty of a show, no less. That's greatness. That's no limits.

Rock was on episodes that did 3.0's and 3.1's. Mania season started and football ended, ratings go up :yeshrug:

As one of the few posters that will be in this thread without a bias or agenda, I would say it will not be Rock's fault, completely. Its mostly Vince's fault for booking the rematch no one wanted but also the Rock's for not being around to sell it. Last time he was a nostalgia act, this time he is the champion therefore the program is built around him. He should be there.

Ultimately, it should have been Lesnar vs Rock this year and Cena beating Punk for the title.

Nah, this Mania has to do better than last year. Rock's the champ facing the second biggest player in the company in NYC.

It's gotta go both ways. If you want to give Rock all of the credit when the buyrates and ratings go up, then of course he's going to get all the blame if this Wrestlemania isn't one of, if not, the biggest buyrate in WM history(it wouldn't be fair because Vince and the writers would deserve some of the blame, but hey, when has logic ever mattered when it's a Rock discussion on TSC?)

This is the 3rd straight Wrestlemania being sold on Rock vs Cena and Rock is not as fresh as he was this time last year. I'm not expecting it to do a bigger number than last year.

If they put Rock against Lesnar, I think the GOAT buyrate results.

True, because there are so many other factors that go into it such as the economy(people probably can't afford to buy Mania this year), the fact that the main event happened last year and it was hyped up as an once in a lifetime match and the fact that the product is shytty overall(which you can thank Vince and the writers for). But being that this is TSC, where logic is checked at the front door when you're discussing The Rock and it's like either you stan him or you hate him, like I said, if he's getting all the credit for the ratings and the buyrates of the last two PPVs being up, then expect him to get all the flak if the buyrates for Mania don't surpass last year or if they're not in the top 5.

This is the third Mania in a row that Rock will be a part of. So I wouldn't be surprised if it didn't set any buy records or fell short of a million buys. But I think that it will do about 1.3 to 1.5 million PPV buys.
