If there had been a democratic primary and debate would Kamala be the Nominee?

If you take a step back this entire election year has been different.

Dems knew Biden was ailing and most likely thought he’d die in office or they would just use him like Weekend at Bernie’s.

Kamala is know being touted as the greatest candidate since Obama. Black and white organizations are raising money for her like we’ve never seen.

Let’s say Bernie, Kamala, Newsom, Moore, Shapiro, Whitmer, Buutigieg faced off, would Kamala be our president?

The answer to this question is obviously no,
although she would have the benefit over other candidates in by already being part of the White House. She has the benefit of her flaws not being as glaring as Trumps are, which she would run into if she was going against other Democratic candidates.

I have no issues with her being propped up to help beat Trump as it’s another all hands on deck situation, but it’s coming off as phony and disingenuous that people are acting as if they liked her all along when receipts can easily get pulled.

I’d rather people just keep it 100% honest about it.

Yes because she was the vice.

It's the same reason everyone else stepped aside the Veep not winning if running is seen as a repudiation of the current president.

If Trump was President and his veep ran the GOP would rally behind him.

I FELT like it should go to the convention but it would've been an all out brawl making Kamala wait :snoop: And anybody dumb enough to try would've committed career suicide

Yes she's the VP of the current administration
not just a random candidate

Of course not. Kamala's got the same issue Hillary does.

- She doesn't come across as genuine
- Part of her track record is hyper conservative in the enforcement of draconian sentencing for nonviolent crimes
- No real track record of tangible changes as part of a president's cabinet

Now add black/Indian woman on top of that in a world where vvhite women will majority vote for a chauvanistic vvhite man over a someone who looks like them and they are already "fearful" (Bigoted) about presidents with (non-white) foreign born parents.

Kamala would've won the nomination if several other people messed up really bad. But in this case she got the perfect storm of riding the coat tails of a senile man that finally was forced to sit down before his term was even complete.

Yes, she would have won it. The delegates didnt need to give her there thumbs up. They could have waited until a convention was scheduled but they maxed her stats right out the gate. The support from other entities trickled in right away as well. She was going to take it no matter what, especially with it being so close to an election. There were no other choices better.

No, we already saw how she performed in a primary and that was before we had 4 yrs of stories about her not doing anything and her own staffers hating her
Her being able to raise money and get people hype is mostly anti-Trump obviously but an element of it is blue no matter who which pisses me off since establishment dems acted like Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren were so unelectable

Except this ain't 2016, it's nearly a decade later.
