Stop embellishing
Not really embellishing. Because Ghana allows 100 percent foreign investment, they look the other way to foreign abuse if they are heavily invested in the country. They allow 100 percent investment because they cant employ their people. Unemployment is through the roof. This allows foreigners who give jobs to treat them like dirt, because the demand for work is so high. If the worker doesnt like the conditions, someone else will tolerate them. Native Ghanan employees being abused by Indians, Chinese and Lebonese is very common. Ghana is going to need labor unions ASAP.
Corruption/Accountability is also still a big deal there as many investments have been squandered due to mismanagement and a lack of accountability for public officials who arent given the fear of wrath incentive to do right by the people. With that said, sexual abuse of children is a Big deal in Ghana because of foreign investment. It creates a corrupt environment. Im not sure how you can just gloss over it.
For example you have a situation where Ghana is trying to improve their agriculture by buying machinery from foreigners. Instead of hose products going to farmers, they end up being used by the government for personal gains and no one in power can stop them. The media does not air out corrupt officals, much like the west and its doubtful they will because they take western money.
Ghana at this stage in the game needs more oversight committees to ensure the money and resources to build infrastructure are going where they need to go.
So no, im not embellishing. The conditions in Ghana allow for alot of seedy activity.
