Nah this Ravens squad is better than The '19 Ravens, quite easily too. First of all Lamar is multiple times better than he was then, and has better offensive weapons, so those are the major gaps...
There isn't a major gap in defenses but I think this '23 Ravens defense is more of a big play defense, the wow factor in the knack for timely, game-swinging plays is huge with this one...
They lost their 3 games this year by a combined 12 points. Split with Cleveland. The Ravens can be beaten but the team that beats them will have to be able to match their physicality and need the personnel to corral Lamar. That's two MAJOR criteria that most teams won't have...
So the Ravens are rightfully the favorites, but the third criteria is simply something only in their control, chiefly Lamar. His career to this point, he's a Regular Season Guy. It's like Peyton Manning early in his career, different play styles obviously but a similar dynamic. Lamar has not looked like his regular season self in the playoffs, and could be on his way to another MVP which would strengthen the Peyton comp...
This nikka has won 75% of his games (57-19), I have my critiques certainly but this is a Hall trajectory. Yet he's 1-3 in the playoffs and it's not just the losses, it hoe he's looked, he simply doesn't look the part in the postseason...
So if he ever plays up to himself, the Ravens are gonna have a massive edge as most teams can't match the physicality nor have the personnel. Everybody thought the Niners had the personnel yet Lamar repeatedly shyt on Warner, Bosa, Young, and particular Warner who is one if The League's faster and more diverse linebackers, he got put in the spin cycle by Lamar many times. There was a play he thought Lamar was gonna run and let Bateman or someone get behind him on the pass, and there were plays Lamar ran and broke this nikka Warner ankles...
Ravens can be beat with the right matchup, but I doubt an NFC team will do it and if Lamar looks like this in the playoffs it's gonna be super, super challenging...
