nikka what the fukk are you talking about lol. And thats definitely not true, how artists got a Wayne co sign and arent where Drake and Nicki are at?
That’s the nature of the game. Dre has consigned several artist and they didn’t turn into Snoop, Em, or Game. Nicki was running around with Deb and it wasn’t going anywhere. Drake was already an artist and he wasn’t really bubbling until he got with YM at their peak. Both artist were very marketable and it took that Universal machine and a peak Wayne to get them where they’re supposed to be at.

Nobody considered TI as the King of the South. TI never was on top of the Rap Game. He was top 10 for a few years.

Wayne was the King of Hiphop for a few years. Squad Up Mixtapes, Carter 1 & II, a ton of hit features put Wayne on a rap run never seen before.

This…TI really wasn’t that big. Even before his commercial resurgence in 04 and his mainstay as one of raps best 08,09 era, Wayne was mad popular in the Streetz w/ 500 degreez and the sqad up tapes.

T.I’s trajectory could’ve been a little watered down hybrid of Pac and Will Smith.

Thug life and entanglement included

The way I saw it Wayne was 1A and T.I. was 1B in 2008/2009. Carter 3 sold 1M first week, Paper Trail sold 568K first week. Carter 3 had Lollipop while Paper Trail had Whatever You Like, Live Your Life and Dead & Gone. Once Drake came in while Tip was locked up, that’s when he started going downhill then he got locked up AGAIN a few months later

Homie started dropping boo boo music. It had nothing to do with him going to jail but he was chasing that live your life and dead and gone bag

Look at the list of songs he started pushing and making Got your back with Keri Hison, some song with Mary J then No Mercy all trash

I’m Back, Yeah Ya Know, Ya Hear Me (which sucked) sounded nothing like Dead & Gone and Live Your Life. If Tip had released Castle Walls as a single, No Mercy would’ve went platinum. The Mary J song came out when he first got locked up and was planning a Paper Trail re-release.

Ive actually grown to like No Mercy over the years. Only trash song on the album was Lay Me Down

This fool gettin mad. :mjlol:

Bruh, When Wayne dropped Carter 1 in 2004, he passed T.I. Carter 2 made him the Top Dog in Rap in 2005.

T.I. Was battling with Jeezy and Rick Ross. Wayne was a Rock Star.
Nah bruh. Wayne didnt become top dog really until Lollipop. That was 08. Before then, T.I was that nikka. Atleast, here in Alabama right up the road from GA. TIP was everywhere. Music was everywhere. The ATL movie. Tip was untouchable.

Naw he was huge.

From 04-2009

Bring ‘em out 9 on billboard
What you know 3 on billboard
Big shyt popping 9 on billboard
Whatever you like 1 on billboard
Stagga like us 5 on billboard
Live your life 1 on billboard
Dead and gone 2 on billboard

KING is the 2nd highest selling rap album and 44th highest of 2006 and sold 2 million

TI vs TIP is the 6th highest selling rap album of 2007 it sold 1 million

Paper Trail was the 3rd highest selling rap album of 2008

Wayne wasn’t mad popular in no streets with those squad up tapes. Most people never heard him. Your average Wayne fan couldn’t tell you they existed

Wayne lapped Tip in 08 though C3 was the highest selling rap album that year 808s was second highest

No Mercy WAS ass though. Tips writing was still as sharp at the time but those beats were fukking whack. The choruses were bad, the features sucked, the music as a whole was just mundane.

You nikkas in here just saying ANTHING LOL this might be the biggest fukking lie in the thread. Tip was HUUUUUUUUUGE. Wayne was getting by off of being in HotBoys and being on Cash Money.

True but Drake and Nicki would’ve never blown up without a Wayne co sign.
I know, my point is that Wayne blew them up before he went to prison and their popularity kept his name out there while he was locked up with Miss Me, Right Above It, etc it’s almost like Wayne wasn’t even locked up (plus he released IANAHB). T.I. didn’t have that in 2009-2010 then him getting busted again turned off a lot of people then they hated the No Mercy album.

Getting popped for guns ain’t have nothing to do with the music he was making he got popped for guns in 07. Paper trail dropped in 08 then after he started making terrible music

Why would I make up a lie when I’m the only whose posted actually dates and numbers to show
Dude was really on top

I’m talking about his singles after he got out the 1st time when he was working on King Uncaged. Remember Me wasn’t even for King that album. We Don’t Get Down Like Y’all came out in 2011 while Tip was locked up the 2nd time (months after No Mercy came out). No Mercy and That’s All She Wrote weren’t even released as singles.

I agree, T.I.‘s music from 2010-2012 was hit or miss. I Can’t Help It should’ve been his 1st single after he got out.
