Yea people are either young or didn’t go outside. This is a whole lie.
When Wayne dropped Tha Carter in 2004, he was still behind T.I. and even Luda for that matter. Urban Legend put some distance between T.I. and Wayne.
Not even going to address the rappers outside The South bigger than Wayne, but in 2005, Jeezy was bigger than Wayne. There was a whole Houston wave that year in addition to what Jeezy was doing in ATL.
I don’t know how this is a diss, it’s just how the world turns lol.
I mean anyone who says Wayne was bigger than Jeezy in 2005 needs to log off the internet.
Actually I remember Wayne performing at my college that year in the baby gym to a small crowd and he had Trina with him in the back lol - he was just not a superstar in the regard he was a few years later…
And TI “What you know about that” “Big Ish Popping”, ATL movies, not to mention this guy was acting in mainstream films, was bigger than Wayne on a cultural level, that’s not even debatable.
Wayne def got off and surpassed though, incredibly enough without ever really stepping outside of music
