If OKC doesn’t make the finals, do you think they will get a pass from the media/fans?

yes but you cherry icking stars they have 11 losses in the west / Lost a series to GS, Tied in series with Minny & Denver. They need to beat these teams ro take the west.

I don’t see it as cherry picking but we can agree to disagree. They have the likely MVP, they’re likely gonna finish with 68+ wins, #3 offense, #1 defense, #1 all time point differential. How is this not one of the greatest regular seasons ever?

Even then, 11 losses in conference is still elite territory regardless, that hasn’t been done by a West team since 2018.

It’s fine if you personally don’t think they’ll make it out the West or won’t be shocked if they don’t. But the fact remains that in the NBA historically teams that have performed at the level they have this season usually makes the Finals

It's a great regular season sure, but that doesn't mean them not winning a title makes them a failure.

They have lost 11 conference games I don't think any other historically great team has lost that many.

I never said failure if they don’t win the title

All I’m saying is, if they don’t make the Finals they will be probably the most accomplished regular season team to not do so. Whether you think that’s a failure is up to you

I personally think they are as good as advertised and have everything they need to get there, them splitting the season series with a couple of teams won’t sway me from there

Them not getting to the finals would be because of an injury or a legendary performance from the opposition. So I think they will get a pass.

Whoever gets Houston 1st round will be lucky. I feel the exact same way about the 4/5 seed feeling good against OKC

If okc lost early or never resch rhe finals.

It would retread this moment.

Yet the sonics coach trash george karl was given a pass by the press.

That no one shyt on them for losing.
That it seems no one remembers.

Same thing will happen here.
If okc makes the finals and lose.

No one will be blamed or take harsh critique.
Especially with their age.

Look at those 11 losses

Last loss to the nuggets, jalen williams got injured early but had 12 points in 14 minutes
Twolves loss had no Chet Holmgren
Other twolves loss had a full roster
Denver loss no hartenstein
GS loss no hartenstein
Dallas loss no Holmgren no Hartenstein
Spurs loss no holmgren no hartenstein
Houston loss no Holmgren
Bucks loss no holmgren
Warriors loss no holmgren
Cavs loss no holmgren
Mavs loss no starters except dort

Their starting 5 is unbeatable
