if nukes go off , would you rather be a survivor or taken out asap?

Based on past events like Hiroshima/Nagasaki ... it seemed that those who suffer the most were the ones that survived the nuke blast with 3rd degree burns and/or high chances of cancers/tumors.

With all this talk of WW3 , which might or might not happen ...it would mean nukes going off all across the world with many areas becoming uninhabitable like Chernobyl which would impact food and other things as well. It would suddenly become a wild wild west where only the strong would survive a bit longer than the rest.

So if you rather be one of the survivors, you would have to deal with low food supply , all basic commodities like electricity gone , have to kill others in order to survive ...and among other things.

So for those who survive , they will either resemble the dead or envy those who are dead.

So which would you pick?

Supposedly the atmosphere would fill with smoke/dust so thick it would nearly block the sun.

So even if you survived the blasts you’d either freeze or starve to death.
