If Next Friday wasn't a sequel do you think it would be held in higher regard?

I saw it in 2000 on video, before I graduated 8th grade, so we all kind of loved it. It isn't the same type of movie, Friday is more grounded in reality, and Next Friday, probably due to the studio's influence, and F Gary Gray's absence, is more of a screwball type of comedy. It has some funny moments, but the caricatures are more exaggerated, less realistic portrayals, honestly the comedy is more based on a white persons view, in my opinion. It is still a sort of childhood classic, that I'll watch when it comes on. Friday is a real movie, and this is big studio effort to cash in.

On point.

Both Next Friday and Friday After Next have quotables for days and characters to rival the OG Friday.

The OG Friday has the best story though.
Tgis..first movie was the best actual movie by far, but the sequels may have the best characters, s well as be more rewatchable.
