Who are the Africans playing on these teams? The rich Africans that can afford to not work and practice and join their version on the AAU teams? Or the everyday African?

The best Africans in every country. It doesn't matter if you are poor or rich. Soccer is a poor mans sport in the rest of the world. The African Cup of Nations is just like FIBA World Cup or the World Baseball Classic. Those tournaments are littered with players that grew up poor and had to work hard to make it to the where they are now.

You said that if Africans played the sport they would dominate. Well they do play the sport. It's the most popular sport there along with Rugby and Cricket. George Weah from Liberia in 1995 won both the Fifa Player of the year and the Ballon d'Or (Top player playing in Europe.) Weah grew up in a slum in Monrovia (Poorest city in the world.) He didn't have the AAU infrastructure backing him and would probably consider himself an "everyday African."

These are all lies. Poor Africans (97% of Africans) are not playing soccer. I been to African several times and never seen anyone play and never saw a ball. They didn't even sell those balls!

Why are Africans over represented in the NBA and NFL when they are about .001% of the American population?

They will run any sports

breh, africans play soccer all over the continent of africa
if they do not have a ball, they create one by rolling plastic bags together and use rocks to make a goal!!
i know this cause i grew up doing that and i've seen it in several african countries!!

Then when you lose the next world cup you'll do a 180 and say you lost cause there were too many Black players, huh? :mjohword:

This topic aint even interesting anymore cuz so much false info being spewed by posters like @Malta
Only way a U.S team would be elite or competitive on a world stage is thru training, coaching and skill development in America...

It has far less to do with point guards and running backs being funneled into the sport away from college football/basketball...

A team full of Westbrooks would get destroyed by the top worlds teams...and thats evidenced by Ocho Cinco unable to stick with an MLS team.
Its alll about skills and training and little to do with athleticism...

lmao :mjlol:

Guys like lebron are too tall.Their height limits what they can do
actually not really. well not for guys like bron, kobe, maybe even durant.

these guys are super tall. but they are just as agile as a guy thats 5'7. thats the insane part about them. there's a reason lebron rarely trips over his own feet. there's a reason bron can beat a smaller player off the dribble.

thats some serious agility, hand eye coordination while dribbling the basketball and concentrating on making theshot while being hit.

imagine durant and bron doing headers? who's going to reach up that high to stop them from passing it back and forth to one another? No one. lol

imagine westbrook playing soccer. he would probably be the greatest to ever do it. having that kind of ridiculous athleticism, agility, strength and fearless attitude.

and thats no disrespect to my latin/hispanic homies doing it well. or even the overseas cousins getting it in. but truth is truth. we would dominate that sport too.

but we'll let yall eat.

i see this is what you do when you have no actual comeback. so let me hit you back with the WPOTY2016.

oh and i'll hit you with a little more reality. people say bu bu they are too tall. well what do you think would happen if blacks got into soccer like that in the US specifically? for one all of them wouldnt be giants. but still could have nba athleticism. there are a lot of dudes that didnt make the league because the league for the most part will discriminate against dudes 6'1 or shorter. you have to be insanely good to get in at those shorter heights.

this means the height thing wouldnt be as much of an issue as some suspect.

but back to the tall dudes. this aint American Football where tall guys would have to be afraid of someone cutting their legs out with a tackle. lastly, most nba players have HUUUUGE feet. which means they have a higher probability of kicking the ball and having better control over where the ball goes once they kick it. its the equivalent of having Large hands in basketball.

Think before you post and reply to me.

oh and for those that doub it. lets look at some talleys thats futballing it up

Top 15 Tallest Soccer Players in The World

Truth is, yes that center of gravity is key to the attackers. but the thing is this. these hyper athletic agile nba players at 6'3 to 6'10 are ULTRA agile for a reason. Something about their center of gravity or how they control it is much different than the average guy at those extreme heights. so you cant assume some giant walking around at 6'6 with shaky agility will be good at soccer. he wont. he will fall down a lot. and trip over himself. but these elite agile players wont be falling like that at all.

imagine john wall playing soccer his entire life. again i'm not talking about roy hibbert. who falls often in basketball games because he's so tall and his balance is off.

Probably the most well-known giant in soccer, Peter Crouch has spent the last 15 years in the Premier League, starring for QPR, Portsmouth, Aston Villa, Southampton, Liverpool, Tottenham, Stoke and England. He overtook Alan Shearer last season as the top scorer of headed goals in Premier League history, which is hardly surprising considering Crouch stands at a towering 6-foot-7. With 22 goals in 42 games for England, Crouch has a fine international pedigree, and is surprisingly good on the ball for a man of his height.

Jan Koller is arguably the most talented soccer player on this list, and another who will be well-known to a lot of people. Koller played for the likes of Anderlecht, Borussia Dortmund and Monaco, winning titles in the Czech Republic, Belgium and Germany, leading the divisions scoring charts in 1999. Standing at 6-foot-7.5

Standing at 6-foot-7.5, Koller had a very good goal scoring record over his career of 199 goals in 483 games, but had an even better record for his country. Koller played 91 times for the Czech Republic, scoring 55 goals; making him the nation’s all-time leading scorer.

but we know durant would kill as a goalie. lets not even go there.
