this fight happening makes this sport look weak..like a sideshow breh..this fight is happening not because of any boxing vs mma debate..its only a byproduct of the real reason..floyd needs to make money to pay the IRS

As a competitive match up I'd say its arguably weak but I think in terms of money for the sport this fight is good for the sport.

It shows that the big money is still with boxing and that the biggest stars from combat sports have to go into boxing to make the most money. Ironic considering many consider boxing to be a 'one dimensional' , 'weak' sport

Every boxer would agree its a bad look if this guy loses

The hate for Floyd and black athletic dominance drives this narrative

Boxers have won MMA and kickboxing matches with no experience

Conor has more boxing experience than ray Mercer had MMA and Shannon Briggs had kickboxing

James toney took a dive because he needed money he could've hit Randy with a right hand like Shane pointed out

Bully beat down was a TV show where average guys would get paid for surviving against pro MMA fighters and a lot of them lasted all rounds lmao

If McGregor beats Mayweather it is the end of MMA

McGregor will be a full time boxer and never fight MMA again

Toney lost in a debut fight similar to Conor vs Floyd if Toney beat Couture that shyt would've made UFC look like a complete joke as well especially as out of shape Toney was.

Ray Mercer beat Tim Sylvia in his debut who was fresh off a title fight with Fedor who was p4p at the time nobody said MMA is a joke

People want to see boxing die because blacks control the business now inside and out

McGregor aint going back to MMA.. the whole sparring debate with Paulie has already planted the seeds for a fall showdown with Paulie

He'd be a fool to not make that fight happen they can easily market that as a 'boxer vs puncher' type fight

Tim Sylvia was never considered the best of his generation and this has nothing to do with blacks or anything so leave this out the discussion it's all hypothetical.

McGregor keeps talking about knocking Mayweather out - we all see that as an unlikely scenario and also McGregor's only hope - but imagine how much of an upset (and payout *cha-ching*)} it would be if McGregor wins by decision

Now imagine Mayweather wins by decision - or even by KO - the whole world goes "Well, this is exactly how I expected this to go"

So the only way this is an event that lives up to it's hype is if Mayweather loses. That's the entire sell of the event and it will be a disappointment if he doesn't. Globally speaking.

As for me, I admire Mayweather. I view his generalship in the ring as one of the greatest examples of mastery that any human has had in their chosen profession, perhaps ever

but can it really be this easy? The simplicity of this match-up is making me question reality. Nothing should be this easy to call. I have a feeling the universe is going to do some balancing out here

There will be some talk to go around if Mayweather loses . . . this would open up the door for McGregor-Pacquiao

See thread - 2018 - Pacquiao comes back for one more fight ... against McGregor

I think McGregor has a shot against Pacquiao - especially with more training to come.

But there's a lot of people that will end McGregor's boxing credibility, if he beats Mayweather he would have to avoid these people
Look, I know people are down on Pacquiao and shyt over the last few years since the Money Mayweather fight, but there's no fukking way Conor McGregor would last in a fight with him lol.

He was a former UFC champion
And lost to a guy turning 50 who hadn't fought in near ly two decades
Floyd Mayweather is 41
If he loses people will just say he is old

If Sergey kovalev fought Randy right now he would kill him in the octagon lmao

Brett Rogers went from working at Sam's club to damn near beating the best of his generation Fedor

With that said McGregor does not have the power to knock Mayweather out with a lucky puncg

The big money is with Mayweather TBH.

If Mayweather fought McGregor in an independent, non-UFC affiliated MMA fight, it may not make the amount of money it's going to make next week but it'd still make record-breaking level type sales.

MMA fighters don't get the big money because of the structure of the UFC. If they were independent like boxers are, McGregor wouldn't be needing to do this Mayweather stunt in the first place.

I don't know man,

he has a chance against the following

Pacquiao
Thurman
Khan

he has NO chance against the following, these guys would embarrass him

Errol Spence Jr.
Terence Crawford
Danny Garcia
Shawn Porter

And yes,

Kell Brook

Breh, you're going off the fukking deep end. These CACs really have diluted your brain.

Nobody, not McGregor, nobody, with no amateur boxing background and no professional boxing background, is going to come in and beat championship-level fighters who have been doing this shyt their whole life, much less a legendary HOF'er like Manny Pacquiao.

You're really disrespecting the shyt out of what it takes to get to the level these guys are at.

And why would he able to beat Thurman and Pac but would get embarrassed by Porter and Garcia?
