Why can't sampling make you a genius? I'll say however lazy sampling does not take a rocket scientist to do but if you can take from something else and make it your own in it's unique way then that takes talent.

him callin' himself a genius is just self promotion and all hype. that's all it is. it's part of his "act", "brand" and "niche". plus, he knows people who like his music will feed into it, so he marches along with it.

I said what I felt defines genius. The definition on wiki ends saying musical genius is subjective so everyone has their opinion. I stated mine. Whats your opinion on the subject though?

That's what Kanye doesn't understand. He's insecure of his place as an artist so he constantly bigs himself up and claims to be some amazing musical revolutionary. He never has been and never will be.
