I like a lot of Jay z albums but I agree. He has not made any groundbreaking music. He made good music but nothing hip hop would miss.

Imagine tryna delete one of the greatest mcs of all time with a top 3 catalog. Smh

The horrible takes on jay the past few years have been horrible

Cats actually like 50 Cent is better than Jay Z. :mjtf:

They think that GRODT with its stale production is better than RD, Blueprint, and even The Black Album. @General Mills

No Jay means no:

No Kanye
No Rihanna
No Beanie Sigel

And if there's no Kanye, that changes pretty much the sound of music over the last 20 years drastically. For better or for worse.

So this is blatantly wrong, even if you don't like Jay's music.

No Kanye means that you still be wearing baggy clothes from high school and still be denied from non ratchet clubs with timbs :dead:

Jay is from an era where clones didn't blow up. That is why it is laughable that people use "clones" as the end all/be all of influence. Bathgate, Angelous, and ROC were all Jay Z clones. They never blew up beyond mixtapes and guest spots. Nobody was interested in hearing a Jay Z clone that wasn't as good as Jay Z. This generation is different. You will accept and even say the clone is as good if not better than the original.
You’re mentioning direct clones with the same voice, style, and ad libs.

Wayne’s “clones” are unique from him.

Clones aren't unique. In order for them to even be considered clones, there has to be similarities that make them near identical. Otherwise they aren't clones.

You can honestly say that shyt about nas

Illmatic came out and didn’t do shyt commercially at all..

People respected nas on the real hip hop level at the time

But you had Big and the Wu getting the east coast going

Bone dropped with Eazy and people was like who was that

Outkast first album dropped

Scarface Diary dropped

Warren G regulate and Snoop singles banging

Then nas second album dropped and even though him and Lauryn single did good
And the album sold like hot cakes, everything was about Pac in 96 and death row

And then after 96 nas career was dying until Jay literally saved his life with takeover, because no takeover means no ether and nas would be floating in those Atlantic Ocean waters

Lil Wayne doesn’t have “clones” he has people influenced by him.

Another example of why Hip Hop has the worst fan base
