I just would like to point out that fossil fuels came from 99% plant life. There was never enough animal based carbon i dont think to have as much fossil fuels as we do.

considering we've only been intelligent for about 5,000 years, and technological for 2,000, I think it's safe to say that in another 10,000 we'll be able too, and perhaps even colonize them.

we barely understand our own planet and use 7% (at best) our brains. Once we evolve to about 50%, the skies (see what I did there) is the limit.

One thing is for certain, per example of other planets, this one, won't last forever.

Most of our brain is occupied with keeping us alive, the
rest we use for speech, memory, logic/mathematics/ problem solving etc.
So there's very little chance we'll be using "more" of our brains
in the future.

I wouldn't be surprised if they found ways for us to use what
we do have available more efficiently though.

I've always wonder this. I want to see the answer from a religious stand point. Whats the purpose of all these planets and stars? The sun i understand and even the moon. But why would he create galaxies and other planets? for eye candy?
