Pure skill wise he's top 3
Catalog, he's top 40? Maybe?
Idk. He's too 20. If he's in your top 10 I'm not mad at that.

Huge Em fan, always defend him. That being said, when he started taking producing serious he started to fall off. Beats were never dope. I do think he has had dope albums since 02, but I always felt the producing thing hurt him. The drugs took his soul and you need soul to make good beats IMO lolI've said it a million times on this board. he's an amazing rapping technician, but his musicianship (am I using that word right?) is largely terrible.
His ear for beats, his ear for good sounds, his production choices, his ideas of what makes a dop song...most of that is sub-par. He does best when he has someone like Dr. Dre or Just Blaze to help steer him.
Maybe even more-so than Drugs, Em's biggest mistake IMO was whoever gassed him up and made him think he was a dope producer. Because once Em went from doing some little co-production every now and then, to full on producing entire songs and executive producing his own albums, his music went to total shyt.
fukk it...I'll take Relapse (an album that a past-prime Dr. Dre produced like every joint on) over an album like Encore or Relapse all day.
After 2002, Eminem hasn't made a dope album arguably.
MMLP is his best album (no secret there.)

Slim Shady em is the best, no one is fukking with him 98-01. But that's a sall part of his career. I was the biggest em Stan there was but looking back now 80% of his catalog is trash but that 20% is some of my favorite music
I don't get how you can say he has skill but his discography is ass
If his discography is ass then where did he display his skill?
