If Chad Johnson is an NFL veteran... How is it hard for him to learn a playbook??

i swear, you can tell who's never played a down of organized football...

You really acting like a WR who's played in pretty much the same offensive scheme the entire 10 years of his NFL career is to effectively pick up a new one in a matter of months?

more and more college teams run the spread, so it's not as much of a learning curve to play in it in the NFL, moreso terminology and just game speed.

nobody calls players dumb when they have difficulty adjusting from a 4-3 to a 3-4...why would be considered "dumb" cause you didn't pick up an entirely new offense in a matter of 5-6 months of playing in it?

he didn't get the playbook, after a whole year he still could not even line up correctly and he couldn't be used in the hurry up offense. that's why he was let go. joey galloway didn't get either.

Exactly but this troll is gonna now run with the 2 Black players didn't get the playbook at New England angle now.

Eh, the Sheed comparison only works a little.

He never averaged 20 a game in a season.

There's no reason Sheed shouldn't be considered with greats, when we talk about him, we talk about what he could've been.

Moss is in discussions as one of the best WRs

Good point. But let me ask you this, do you consider Rodman a HOF?

More importantly, Chad played in a simple offense in Cincinnati. He just had to know his route for that play. He didn't have to read anything. The Patriots run one of the most complex offenses in the NFL and it is based on reading and reacting. That's why Brady throws an INT, 95% of the time it's based on he and the receiver reading the defense differently, as opposed to a guy running the wrong route or Brady just throwing a bad ball or not seeing a defender. That's why the Patriots brought in Lloyd as opposed to anyone else. He was in that same system with Josh McDaniels, there's not a steep learning curve for him.

Lockout year too. No spring camps.

But that don't matter. Chad just too dumb to get the playbook.

You serious right now. Never heard Carson Palmer get called out for not grasping the playbook.

And the PATS is the only read & react team in the NFL. Gotcha champ

Good point.

Players that don't fit into new schemes are "properly" labeled as, for example, a 3-4 OLB or a 3-4 end. How come offensive players don't get labeled the same way?

Yeah.

Amazing defender, amazing rebounder, key role on 5 championship teams.

Despite his antics, no one ever questioned if he was giving his all like Sheed, until the last year or 2 of his career.

He's 6'7 and averaged 19 rebounds a game in 91-92. :dwillhuh:

1. Offense is completely different that what he was used to
2. Shortened training camp
3. Crowded WR/TE core so limited reps with Brady
4. FL route trees are alot more complicated than TE's and slot WR, who basically just run the seams and attack the soft spots of the zone
5. Beli doesn't hold anybody hand so if he fukked up he got pulled. He didn't have the luxury of learning on the job like alot of other players do.

It was the perfect storm for Chad to fukk up. If they gave him another chance this year he would have looked alot better

Chads dumb cause he can't do what Wes Welker does.... but it's cool that Wes was in Lubbock for 4 years learning the most advanced spread offense there is.

but let nikkas and the media tell it, Chad's slow as fukk cause he didnt get the hang of the spread in one season.

after all, all he gotta do is run the routes and catch the ball.

:what:

Slot CB and WR have the most complicated assignments.

I don't know what a slot CB route is(pretty sure that guy is on defense)....but Welker's route tree is bullshyt simple. Anybody who has ever seen him play knows this. The only difference is Welker just runs his routes nearly perfect.
