btw) which continued to air for a very long time after it's original run had ended and appeared in numerous games(Ultimate Alliance, Tony Hawk, X-MEN etc) and other shows(STAS). Character had similar notoriety as The Fantastic Four among the general public prior to the films being released. Of course both brands were nowhere near as followed or liked as much as Spider-Man or X-Men brands.It's a whole different kettle of fish with Black Panther, character is no bigger than Ant-Man, Strange or The Guardians of The Galaxy.

Sorry but aint nobody gonna pay to see a Batman knockoff. Even though I can't stand Snyder his Batman will be far more "comic booky" than Nolan's version. Fox tried to do something similar with Daredevil looking like a knock off Spider-Man and nobody cared.

I agree that the Black Panther isn't as popular as The Coli thinks he is. But he's probably more popular than Ant Man, and definitely more popular than Guardians of the Galaxy and those got the green light.
