My mom job she been at for 20 years fired all the black people and retained all the bilinguals most of which were there for much shorter . My city used to be majority black


Around here if you don't speak Spanish you're not getting hired . NJ is toast
LA is like this.

I had hard time getting certain jobs until I went into “tech”.

But damn near every basic college level job, required bilingual

I'm just not with the idea of not even trying because you might hear "no", or what somebody might say. It's not the end of the world. Try anyway. Too many people out here living their lives like literal hostages, scared to go here-there-wherever because it's an unfamiliar space. So.the.hell.what. Life is for living, try things dammit. Ask questions. Make a mistake. Learn a better way. Heck, teach somebody your better way if you find out your way is better. Whatever. Just try at least. Too often, these threads turn into something way different than a simple "I'm having this difficulty", into a "woe is us" chorus. And that's some crippling weight to tote around all the time.

I feel you but at the same time, I'm not with the idea of people applying, getting the job then living through hell until they can find something else because if there's one thing I know, it's that these people clique the fukk up QUICKLY. They'll hire you as the 'diversity' token JUST to be the future scapegoat.

If the hiring manager is Indian then you not getting the job unless you're also Indian. My company has entire teams of only Indians, and they're not offshore teams.

It depends on what kind of Hispanic we're talking about...all Hispanics aren't the same or apart of the same group, Hispanic is very broad term.

If we're talking White Latinos, Mexicans, Cubans, etc then yeah the statement is true because it's well-known what kind of sentiments they hold towards Black ppl.

I'd rather work for a Black Latino over a CAC any day 🤷🏾‍♂️ before I found and was hired by a small Black owned engineer company several years ago, I've turned down many guaranteed job offers (good salary jobs) after finding out the boss/manager or whoever in charge was White.

I don't want to work for CACs nor have to sell myself short and lose my integrity or dignity as many of you have with the “code switching” mentality. I ain't about to go through all that BS with having to deal with passive aggressive CACs playing silly games to get me caught up and shyt 🤷🏾‍♂️.

All true. Then again, you risk those conditions working for/with Asian people, Caucasians, East Indian people or many others who happen to be in the majority in whatever situation. All life is risk.
