If your goal was to live in a city insulated from cacs you can do that by just packing your bags and moving down south.

Nope a landlocked area of the U.S. is not the place to do this.
You’re wrong. With rising sea levels, catastrophic storms, ocean floors being destroyed, etc.

Best to get it now for the low for future generations.

Not JUST away from white folks, but a city/community/region that's entirely governed by blacks, with a self sustaining economy.... and you aint doing that in the south.

you not doing that in the U.S.A. period...

You can build the community and get the right population but you are still in the United States. I don't think there is a way around that...

Many blacks still haven't figured out the best way to insulate themselves from White supremacy here... is via a self sustaining economy and local level government.

I hear you

I think past generations of Black people have reached this same conclusion and even executed to some extent but not with lasting power. If the children grow up and leave then it falls apart and doesn't carry on or they get pushed out like they did the kids of Black farmers who had been down for generations by denying them finances to maintain their livelihood.

I was listening to a podcast called talkitexture and they had a breh who was talking about visiting a community (cacs) in Alaska and it sounded like they had a lot of autonomy from the government but it could also be because they were so far removed and remotely located from the mainland that the feds don't care as much to impose their will.

Straight out the fukkin' dungeons of rap
The issue with segregation (when mandated by the government) is that it was/is not equal.

Creating a black community would be different because it's not government instituted. No one is saying that you cannot go to a certain store or go to a certain area of town.

What this would be is like an all black HOA, buying property, developing the land, and selling the homes to the people they see fit. Over the years it would turn into a primarily or all black area of the country.

What I DISLIKE though is that whenever we talk (especially hypothetically) about things, we use negative connotations. Asking you here (and respectfully :whoa:) why does the word "segregation" come to mind? I live in San Diego, there are large pockets of the city where Koreans live...where the signs are in Korean, where the people and shops and schools are heavily Korean owned...but we don't call that "self segregation". We call it a Korean community.

In San Fran and LA there are "China Towns" where damn near everyone is Chinese. The signs are in Chinese and English, you can find people who really don't speak much English in these areas. We don't call them "segregated" we call them communities.

Why would a group of black people deciding to do this in a new territory be akin to segregation? I wouldn't see it as us "cutting ourselves off" from others. I would see it as a community of like minded and like experienced people deciding to start from the ground up in order to build an area that has the same values, shares a similar culture, has positive influence on each other, and encourages the next generation physically, emotionally, financially, and mentally, to do greater things.
I was just testing you to see what you thought. Excellent points and a great post

Maybe that's why you have to have some cause or idea such as a religious belief that will make people put aside their current comforts for a higher goal. :jbhmm:

You have to give them something to believe in more than possibly their own life .
I think they call that a cult
