His accent was a little off - you could definitely still hear some Hackney in there, but a bunch of mannerisms in his performance reminded me of uncles and some of the older heads in the family. The constant questions ending with "Heh? :birdman:", for one...
He does that in pretty much all his roles

Ehhhhh, heh

Etc

Adebisi raping grown men in Oz and then raping kids in this would have made him top 5 most demonic actors of all time.

That's a hell of a thing to be typecast as.

You right about being typecast. :huhldup:But it would have been his biggest movie role to date.....now its Killer Croc :francis:

Again I thought Idris was great. But I gotta say the Agu/Strika dynamic was the biggest story from the movie :to:

The Diaspora
:mjcry: God damn R. I. P The young O. G Strika.

Agu : Why do they call you Strika?

Strika: *Trigger Fingers "

:wow:

Elba acted his ass off.

Dude went from hero to villain in one scene .Agu completely lost his innocence after the rape scene. It completed the transformation that started with the killing of that engineering student on the road. Was he ever showed smiling after that point?

Yep made a post about that spoiler. Seriously was just thrown in the movie for no reason.

the film is based off a book....in which this happened. Cats also need to realize this shyt happens in these war zones where child soldiers are used. Beyond the pedo stuff you could tell it was also a power thing.
That's why when the Commandante was getting sonned by the Supreme Commander Agu was like :sas2: "this nikka aint calling no shots."

I watched the movie last night and thought it was good (I wouldn't have known about it if it wasn't for this thread). I agree that the ending could have been better; it became somewhat anticlimactic, but still good.

In terms of the "pedo" stuff, that is probably reality in those situations (just like the rape of women which was also depicted in the movie). As a society, we've just become desensitized to certain types of sexual violence since it's seen as a norm, but sexual violence against young boys is also a reality.

Basically...the shyt was :to: all around....the way Strika was there for Agu...:mjcry: the name of this film needs to be "So Many Tears".

Great film.
But aint nobody talking about Tripod, the general butt-naked, dude who just had his meat out in the middle of battle.
