Just left the theater, Ill post my more detailed opinions when I get home.

The scene where the business men are sitting next to idris while he waits is the most powerful scene in the film but most wont catch it.

True that. My folks spend a ton of time in Ghana now. Fits perfectly into what they've been telling me.

The movie is based on the wars in Liberia and Sierra leone but they used kids from all over west africa. I just hate this movie will get praised for the savagery and rawness and people will miss the bigger picture. An old white dude walked out during the showing lol.

Striker and Agu were amazing in this, those lil kids are excellent actors :to:

Just finished watching it. Based on this, Sin Nombre and True Detective season one, I'm fully on board the Cary Fukunaga hype train. The cinematography in the movie was beautiful. I really hope Netflix continues picking up movies like these.

The kid who played Agu did an amazing job. Same with the kid who played Strika. Idris Elba was dope too, HUH :heh:

So many depressing scenes too.

Agu's father not being able to pay for Agu to leave with his mother and sister :mjcry:

Agu's father and brother dying :mjcry:

Commandent raping Agu :mjcry:

Strika's death :mjcry:

Agu's realization that he can never be a child again :mjcry:

Fukunaga is the best director doing it today. Bring on the hate.

Yea, This and the Slave thing are getting old, many of these movies are good but they are not doing anything to disrupt the minds of viewers, I hope this Nat Turner Movie finally comes out and is raw and uncut.
