This makes sense. Hollywood makes more movies then anyplace in the world. Actors all over the globe have practiced and studied American accents. It's much rarer to have a Jamaican based movie and it would make sense to try to cast it with real Jamaicans.

This is the only answer. People don't have to agree with casting decisions, or support a film, but the ones who finance / produce a film are the ones who make those decisions.
Also, plenty of international actors have lived and worked in the US for periods of their lives. Hearing and interacting with people 24/7. Idris lived in NYC before, for example.
Fewer actors from here live and work on acting projects abroad.
Always funny to see this topic resurface here, and for people to ignore the points you both have made.
