I know that. I’ve lived in the south more than anywhere else in my life (Atlanta, Memphis, Miami). I’m speaking about the general southern accent. It’s the easiest for Brits to imitate and he did horribly.

Exactly - but folk in this thread are talking like any random Black guy from Hollywood somehow has the genetics to do a particular regional accent better than any British actor can, or has deeper authentic knowledge of some particular history even though he's just been working as an actor his entire life..

Literally no one was calling out Idris's accent as Stringer Bell or saying he was inauthentic, so the entire claim is disingenuous.

I can tell if someone is from Florida and what specific part of Florida they're from just off of slight differences in pronocuations and accent but let them tell it there are 4 American accent and they are masters at all of em.

And before any of you tell me Idris does a good American accent he does one thats it. my boy Stringer Bell was in Baltimore sounding like he just got off the train from Greenpoint,Brooklyn
