Been cooking from scratch for a minute.
Been putting some money aside for raised beds to start growing produce.
Thinkin' 'bout gettin' a food dehydrator and grinder for homemade spices and spice blends.

Cooking is a survival skill, if you don't know what to eat and how to put heat to something to make it edible and nutritious you slackin' major.

Cooking isn’t about the recipe but the process, you can give them the recipe and all the steps but unless you have some sort of common sense and willing to learn recipe ain’t shyt

Cooking is skill. It's a science. Different ingredients do different things. Oils burn at different temps. Too much of a seasoning makes something bitter

Black Self-Sufficiency
I kinda disagree because as black men it probably matters more for us than any other men. The sodium in American fast food is killing us at obscene levels. My dad had high blood pressure when I was a kid and my mom went out here way to remove a lot of sodium from the food she cooked for us. It's a big reason he's still alive today. She could have easily said fukk it I'm gonna cook like my mama cooked and while I'm sure we would have loved having that type of soul food more often, the end result wouldn't have been good.

I love cooking for my brothers, friends, etc. It's cool being able to introduce guys - especially black men - to all the different spices and herbs I use to elevate my food instead of solely relying on salt. I hate seeing videos where a black person dumps salt, garlic salt, creole seasoning (sodium), Old Bay (sodium), into a dish that doesn't need all that. And I hate the stereotypes about our food being flavored while white people don't flavor their food. It's like celebrating death.

I kept trying to rack my brain about how to answer the above post, and then remembered that I do not really care about the issue. I find it amusing that ostensibly heterosexual men are so concerned about other men being unable to cook. You even painted a scene of how you want to intruduce guys to spices and herbs. You can do that, but I am here to tell you that the last paragraph sounds sus to me. So I will ask this...
