Why would the above bother you enough that you would feel sad about what grown men can do or not do when it comes to cooking? This does not sound like something a heterosexual man would even consider enough to feel any sort of way about. I can understand being heterosexual and feeling sad about the women you have to choose from being unable to cook, but being upset about the men not being able to cook makes no sense to my sensibilities.

It makes sense to me because cooking is a basic ability that an adult should be capable of.

(Why y'all keep bringing up sexual shyt in a topic about cooking? :what:)

I'll never understand dudes not knowing how to cook. Most of the best cooks in the world are men so it's not a gender/role issue. Brehs never been broke living on their own, buying potatoes and vegetables because they're cheap? Learning how to cook chicken breaks various ways because they're cheap too lol? Then expanding to learning how to make pasta, beans, being able to afford some beef etc?

You'd be surprised how many fellas spend/spent the entire decade of their 20s living off sports bar/fast food/wings. Women aren't necessarily a factor either, they just have the same bad habits they picked up in university.

And? What does the next man being able to cook do for you? I assume you are not in the market to marry another man, I could be wrong though. So really, why would it matter to you at all? If it is your son, you teach him the skill. If he is another man, you should only feel apathy about it.

Honestly, you just need to know how to google.

Cooking isn't some super secret, special knowledge that only gets passed down in generations. Everything from rice to Crème Brûlée is on the Internet.
Cooking isn’t about the recipe but the process, you can give them the recipe and all the steps but unless you have some sort of common sense and willing to learn recipe ain’t shyt

I kinda disagree because as black men it probably matters more for us than any other men. The sodium in American fast food is killing us at obscene levels. My dad had high blood pressure when I was a kid and my mom went out here way to remove a lot of sodium from the food she cooked for us. It's a big reason he's still alive today. She could have easily said fukk it I'm gonna cook like my mama cooked and while I'm sure we would have loved having that type of soul food more often, the end result wouldn't have been good.

I love cooking for my brothers, friends, etc. It's cool being able to introduce guys - especially black men - to all the different spices and herbs I use to elevate my food instead of solely relying on salt. I hate seeing videos where a black person dumps salt, garlic salt, creole seasoning (sodium), Old Bay (sodium), into a dish that doesn't need all that. And I hate the stereotypes about our food being flavored while white people don't flavor their food. It's like celebrating death.
