It's called history. No matter how ugly, it is history and those that do not learn it, are doomed to repeat it.
I just think it may be time to move on to the "how to not let it happen again" portion of the lesson. I don't think there is anybody left who isn't aware of this country's racist past. You dudes discuss the problem to death and rarely ever get to the solution.

That's not fair. This country is in a Civil Cold War of ideas, there's no simple outcomes in a cold war.
You want a concrete solution? Everyone in the country has to go to school, so if we put laptops and school, kids will all be connected online. If kids (black, white, hispanic, french, iraqi) start talking to each other online at school, doing collaborative projects with each other, then when they grow up they'll have personal connections that span all races and creeds, and therefore be less likely to instigate racial and religious violence.
Either you're naive or a fool. This information is as relevant and exemplifying of stereotypes as it's ever been.
