Fox Apologizes to L.A. County Sheriff Over Department Depiction in Biggie, Tupac Special

Fox Broadcasting Company on Tuesday afternoon apologized to the Los Angeles County sheriff over what the department called a defamatory photograph of a commander used in the investigative crime special, Who Shot Biggie & Tupac?

“In Who Shot Biggie & Tupac? a photo of Los Angeles Sheriff Department Commander Steven D. Katz was mistakenly used in the program. Fox regrets the error and extends an apology to Commander Katz and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department," the network said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

The sheriff's department demanded an apology on Monday for the two-hour special, produced by Critical Content, which aired Sunday.

"The program also erroneously depicted the LASD as part of the investigation by showing our employee wearing his LASD name badge and standing in front of LASD logos, and indicating several times through graphics and statements, that he was the 'Lead Investigator of [the] Biggie Murder,'" the department said in its demand statement.

Critical Content had already issued an apology.

"Critical Content apologizes to Commander Steve Katz of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, whose photo was mistakenly included in last night’s airing of Who Shot Biggie and Tupac? He is not the Steven Katz of the Los Angeles Police Department mentioned in the program," according to the statement.

The late rapper Christopher Wallace was shot to death by an unknown assailant on March 9, 1997, while sitting in a car near the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles.

This is not an x-ray. It is a photo. Someone who knows someone who works or worked at bellevue gave it to me.

Shakur estate lawyers do not bother contacting me about this- we have been through this already.

If SSCC killed Tupac, then what reason did Suge have to kill Biggie?

SSCC were connected with Bad Boy

They did security for bad boy at one point and hung out with them. In Murder Rap, Keffe D says he let Usher hold his impala for the "Can You Get With It" Video. The one in which Puff pulled Usher out of school to hang out.

Suge killed Biggie (and almost Puff if he didn't run the light) out of revenge.
